The battery powered EPU's on the new 2010 Cascadia's seem to be working pretty good...Maverick has about 300 of them. They don't use any diesel at all...all electric.

They have had a few problems, but any new thing has a few bugs to work out.

It's good to know the technology has come that far. I'd sure like to have a setup like that on my truck. What I was dealing with was a couple of years ago and they still put them on the company trucks.

I've really liked all the Freightshakes I've driven, but hate the cup holder. I use a roll of duct tape on the floor, since I have 42" arms. LOL

I always wondered what the point of the Columbia is. They already had the Century for years before they came out with the Columbia. The biggest difference between the two is the hood, bumper and the cheaped out dash on the Columbia. I've heard the Century is supposed to be the higher-end model but is that the old 1996-2002 Century or the newer Century ST, which they came out with around the same time they introduced the columbia? I've only driven the old Century but the only difference I can see between it and the ST model is the ST has a fancier grill.

I was talking to a Freightliner Dealer about the samething and they said that the columbia is a one step under the century. The century is SUPPOSED to be less nosiey! But they are pretty much the same!

At one time the century's use to come with a super warranty.

In 2004, the Century cost about $8000 more than the Columbia.

I owned two centuries, one Coranado, and now a Cascadia. The Coranado was the best ride. The Cascaida is nice and quite. I loved my 98 Century, but all four spen a good amount in the shop. What can I say, I like freightliners.

    Safe miles to you all,

    Larry
