Sometimes I wander if the trucking industry needs a IQ test before a person can get into the industry or the training is really bad.

Training is something that being prior military for 20 years I believe in, but it looks like the trucking companies do not.

I think self-employed is the worst for most people. I have a few friends that tried it and had to quit because their bosses were a-holes.

Well I can tell you this. I worked for Prime about 4 years ago and I dont regret it. The driver training school was great and both my trainer and instructor taught me everything I needed to know. They were not nasty dirty people both guys washed the outside of the trucks weekly and the insides atleast once a week. The starting pay was .34 CPM once I got into my own truck which I still have not seen much of in the driver wanted adds everywhere. JUST DONT LEASE A TRUCK!!!! If you stay company driver you will do good and trust me there is so much freakin freight to be moved especially as a company driver you can make your money worth there.

Dont go to England. I have a friend that started there about 7 months ago and he decided to lease a truck and went about 6 weeks making under 200 bucks a week. He will be having a lawsuit filled with them here in a month from today. You just need to do your research about the company and if your just starting you need to get a good trainer and instructor and pick there brain if they dont tell you everything or just request another one. Prime is not as bad as most people think as long as you stay on the company side.

I am about to get out of the Marine Corp and after doing my 4 years and 2 deployments as a grunt I think I could put up with most of the crap these companies dish at ya. I may be going back with Prime here in 4 months when I get out because my expierience that I have from 4 years ago is not worth a #### anymore.

Heartland all the way....I worked for Swift, wish i would have stayed. The money's better at Heartland, but the trucks wont idle between 55-77 degrees, and 76 outside is 96 n the truck.Their Fleet Managers are morons that try to push plans you cant run, they threaten to fire if you say no,and threaten to fire if you say yes and wind up late or run it illegally. You get treated like crap, and forget trying to get home.I'm in the regional fleet, make 5 cpm miles less than the OTR guys, but still have to fight like a tiger to get home. They will call you and bug you for referrals, they even pay drivers $500 if they refer a driver and he stays 90 days.Wouldn't it make sense to treat the drivers they have a little better?

    How does what happen?
An accident or having one put on your record?

Are you tellin' us that you didn't have an accident sometime in January, --- or whenever it's claimed that you did?
Where did the alleged accident happen and around what time?
Where does your logbook say you were at that same time?
If they don't match up, and you're not able to be in two places at the same time, you might prove to Swift that they're not so

    .

    Swift.

Lately it seems Big truck truckin' companies are doin' stuff that they've never done before. Bazaar stuff that doesn't make sense, unless we follow the Money Trail to see where it leads.
Now-a-daze, some companies depend on a high turnover rate to make bank on training trainees and putting them to work cheaper than a seasoned driver. And it's possible the companies are receiving stimulus dollars from the gubmint for hiring drivers and appearing to help our economy recover quicker. If not enough drivers quit for whatever reason, incoming wannaBees get piled up and stuck in the revolving doors because there aren't enough empty Big truck driver's seats to put them in.

How long have you been drivin' for Swift?
If it's been a year or more, you mighta wore out your welcome and It's Swift's way of gettin' rid of you.

Then again, it could all be a mistake.
It does seem odd that it took what, ...... five months to bring it to your attention.

Let us know what you find out when you do. 10-4?

I called the accident department and the woman who was reading the file and said "what the..." She told me that she was unclear of something and needed to speak with someone, and she placed me "on hold".She came back on the phone and said that I needed to speak with the accident investigation people(safety???)She put me through and it rang and rang.
Today I called and spoke with a different lady (accident investigation) and I was told that I needed to get a copy of my dac report-I have that(nothing shows-but this is a week old) and I told this lady that I had the dac report and it was not on the REPORT.She said "EVERYTHING IS ON THAT REPORT" SO she said that (Now) I need to get a "driver facts" report and then I can file -requesting that this "accident" be reviewed by their committee...
Guess who the committee is made up of?
The same people who claimed that I was responsible for an accident...so now these same people are going to admit that they lied/screwed up?????
I think that's a load of BEE ESS.
I can't afford an attorney but this might make it tough for me to get another job.I will let you know what happens.
    Best wishes.
