    Trust me.

It is one thing we always noted and watched for. It can be smelled very easily hours after drinking.

Thats probably why I wasn't officially tested. I was hit in Colo. at the Wellington exit. The DD hit me on a Friday night and had all weekend to consider how much trouble he would be in with his C.O. and the State of Colo. Yes he was in the Military and they really frown of drunk driving, plus he would be AWOL.

I have been on accident calls and the officer would ask me if they had been drinking for confirmation or second opinion before pursuit of the ticket.

That's because at a wreck, the paramedics are up in the guys face and speaking to him more than we usually can because they are being treated.

    You gave out my secret.:biggrin_25522:

In addition, they will ususally tell us if they have been drinking too, bit I do not pass this on because of treatment rules.

Can I have a beer or glass of wine in my bunk during my 10 hour break?

During desert storm troops had people ship them whiskey in the large listerine bottles.

That might be the law, but company policy could very easily be different.

The company I work for will test the driver for any accident, regardless of the situation or how minor it might be. For example, if I am sitting in a parking lot and a car taps my truck doing no damage to either vehicle, but they find out about it, it's company policy that I must be tested within one hourl.
