Don't pay any attention to notarps... he's just trying to be funny.
The tractor has to be less than 2 years old - that's usually tough because they haven't depreciated much at 2 years. I think its a maximum of a 240" wheelbase, and Sazook has a better guess at dry weight than I do.
It's handy for any OTR company to have a group of owner-ops available. They can pull the "hero" loads since they don't have to limit their speed unless insurance requires it, or they go to Canada. Also, it's an easy way for a carrier to expand their fleet without the expense of financing addtional equipment.TheUnfortunate Thanks this. -
so if i get a truck at the age of 2 then when its aged past 3 yres do i have to replace it?
-
No... it has to be less than two years old to lease on. As long as you keep the truck up you can continue to pull their freight with it - I don't recall what the maximum age is though. For example, this is 2010... the truck would have to be a model year 2008 or newer. That will change to 2009 on January 1st.

Good luck fella - its been good for me. If you're interested when you get there, drop by the leasing office in the Millenium building and ask them for an information sheet about leasing your truck on with Prime.
TheUnfortunate Thanks this. -
I think it's actually 3 years. I went and got information on it at some point last year, and I'm pretty sure a 2 year limit would have stuck out in my mind.
