TMC no longer patronizes Blue Beacons, and haven't for quite awhile. Now it's mostly Iowa80, Eagle, Pride, 18 Wheelers, and only a very few other independent outfits, at least in the areas where I find myself.

Washes are now "required" every two weeks, NOT every week. I think it was last fall/winter when they changed this policy.

It has been quite awhile since I've received a receipt for a wash that was for less than ~$50.00+ for truck & trlr. Sometimes I just get a truck only wash, and that is never less than ~$35.00+.

The reason for dropping B.Beacons was because they refused to cut the price for TMC trucks, at least that was the rumor I heard way back then.

One place that we are still allowed to get a wash is Whites Truck Stop (Va I-81, Ex.205). [We USED to be able to fuel there, and because of that, we were allowed to get FREE showers there anytime, whether we fueled or not. They cut them from our fuel list a long time ago, and now... no more free showers.] However, we are still allowed to get a wash there, and it is w/o a doubt the most expensive place I've ever had a wash; around $65, BUT it is w/o a doubt the absolute best truck wash that I've found anywhere! They ain't quick about it (usually only one guy doing it/two at most, and it takes at least an hour), but when it's done... it is well done. You get what you pay for.

You can make that kind of money at keen transport. Before the economy went in the tank I made 66K here my first year. Things are jamming again here and Im on track to have a very productive year .

Whites is a good stop although I havnt been there in quite a while and they still send me to some blue beacons I guess it depends on what area you're in. Talked to my FM last night and he told me they wanted to take away the discount that TMC is getting so they are trying to not ues them as much, but even he said they only paid $15 for a truck wash. That is really cheap but you have to think about all the bussiness that we send them. I guess when things got tough they wanted to jack the price up, not that I blame them.

had a high school friend of mine who got laid off at his corporate job in the spring of 2009.
did the 2 weeks of orientation and the 5 weeks of over the road training.
got assigned a tractor in either des moines or indy.
delivered one load and quit due to the fact that tmc could not get him home like the recruiter told him he would.
now he has a trucking school loan to pay off hand he still has no job.

lmao, some people just aren't cut out for the job.

one of the big reasons I chose TMC initially, and chose the company I am with now is above average hometime. of course with TMC that turned into stuck out some weekends, some 34 hour weekends, some weekends loading at 2am on my day off, but still. I don't understand how guys regularly stay out 3+ weeks. I looked at Keen and they said 3 weeks at a time, no thanks, you can keep that. long weekends, days off, and nights at home during the week are nice. almost never had that with TMC.

The way you complain about TMC makes you seem like a child. This thread has been going for months, I think people are aware of your displeasure with TMC. Let it go, you're going to give yourself an ulcer.

I'm going over to TMC in about 2.5 months when I get out of the military. I worked for about 600 or 700 bucks a week over seas in afghnistan for 7 months. If I make that over here driving a truck and not getting blown up or shot at I will be plenty happy with it. I find it funny you got into trucking expecting to get home every weekend and start out making a grand a week! YOUR JUST STARTING AS A ROOKIE!!! I have nbever seen a company pay more then .36 cpm starting and that was one company the next in line to that was .34 and that was Prime who I use to run for then the rest are at what?? .28-.31? Did you have milage pay or did you have percentage? Some people love a company most people hate! Look at swift, there are plenty of guys there that enjoy it and think its a great outfit to work for but there is more that think its a SH** HOLE and leave after a couple months. Every company has its ups and its downs

I myself didn't look at the starting pay. I tried to look at the whole package being a rookie I mainly just want the seat time for a year then I will look at a better company for pay. Besides, My wife just started menopause and what better job for a married man to have then OTR trucking! 3 weeks out I don't think that's long enough myself!
