1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I believe Star was bought out by Covenant. (Star from Il.) There's another Star in Tn. Or, is it the other way around? Oh well, excuse me while i get another cold one from the fridge.....

Werner aint worth the **** .They promise driving big large car petes/freightshakers and then you wind up with a old nasty ugly looking truck with so much tobacco spit on the dash and floor that you could use it to roll cigars for a month....and stinky sleepers with farts inbedded into the matress and *** stains on the wall....Your better off being a Owner Operator once you get some experience with a local company....You should try and get hired on with an end dump or belly dump company....Everyone I know who is an Owner Operator is very sucessful...Good Luck and Choose Wisely friend....I was once in your shoes....Now im on welfare and recieving food stamps all because of truckdriving

Don't know anything about Star, but Werner will send you out to team drive with your trainer for 300 logged drive hours. Pay, last time I checked, is $350/wk. during training, and I think about .24/mile during your first year if you stay OTR. Regional and dedicated pay varies by region or dedicated account. If you're gonna try Werner, go regional or grab a good dedicated account as soon as possible. You'll get treated a bit better.
