BAD idea. If your company runs Canada, they will run a background check on you. And from what I've been told, Canada doesn't go by your U.S. record. They go by your Interpol record, and Interpol doesn't lock your juvenile history the way the U.S. does. And, yet again, honesty is the best policy.

 

Thats not true in my case because i had a juvenile record as well and its sealed inside the courthouse and its not even on a police computer. So employers cannot see it and neither can law enforcement

 

The MVR ain't a sealed document. Get busted driving w/o a license when you are underage and you won't be allowed to even get a license 'til you are older.

21 - 5 = 16. So, if you are 16 or older when you get your second DUI, your driving privileges are going to be suspended BEYOND your 21st birthday. If you are stupid enough to get a 3rd DUI when you are a minor, you will be in your late 20's before you can drive again. You get a 4th DUI, it doesn't matter how young you are, you will NEVER have a driver's license.

The MVR is NOT the same as a criminal record. Only your criminal juvenile record gets sealed...NOT your MVR.

Texas, on the other hand, has some pretty weak DUI laws...especially pertaining to minors. Sure, the fines are hefty, but the suspensions are pretty lame....don't keep bad drivers off the road for very long at all unless they are sitting in jail.

If you think those convictions and suspensions magically disappear on your 18th birthday, though, you are mistaken. MVR is NOT the same as a criminal record. It doesn't matter how old or young you are: What you do behind the wheel will follow you for as long as the state maintains record of that specific conviction.

 

Back to the OP: you now know that your prior b.s. is on the record, and you should act accordingly when it comes to applying for a truck driving job. Face the facts: it's easier for some Mideastern terrorist or illegal alien with a fake CDL-A to get a job in this industry, because your former transgressions are already documented. Check out this website: www.fleetdirectory.com (scroll downward under each state heading to see numerous companies, company phone numbers, links to company websites, etc., etc.). You can also check job listings in the "Transport" column of Craigslist, not just for your town but for outlying areas, although those C/L ads tend to target experienced drivers... doesn't hurt or cost to look, which is why I'm slingin' this info out there. But don't cry when that big blue company finds out you had a suspension! That falsifying a job application is a doozy to get off of your DAC Report! CALL WARNER ASAP and explain. If they pay money to get you to orientation and motel and food and anything else and then "it" shows up in a background check all that money that was spent on you was like being employed and most companies actually consider you an employee when going through orientation which is why some applicants find a "fired company policy violation" or something along those lines and a "falsifying application" 2 dings on the ole DAC/HireRight report! Pretty much a career killer after all that stupid money you paid to the driving school mill!

 

Call them be honest and up front! Explain that you did not realize that something from when you were under 18 will still be on your record.

 

Honestly I dont care about what you think or believe because you are wrong and btw my experience is not verifiable but it was more of a amazing experience than what you ever had...I doubt you even have a cdl....I dont really care to bother worrying.....As far as that goes you can kiss my noodle

 

ROFLMFAO!!! OH you hurt me so badly! And actually Richard Noggin I KNOW as it happened to a friends son! Almost the same thing him being under 16 and getting the DUI! It's an MVR offense and it's not in some stupid sealed file in this state! It is done in an automobile it's an open record. Now if it had been pot or open container in the park or in the back seat of a car thats adifferent story but the rules are changing as the courts are thinking more towards ther should know better and treating some offences as an adult! He applied to Gainey and they slammed his DAC/HireRight record for not telling them of the DUI! But kids know everything! I've got 2. 1 has made it out of teenybopper land the other is marching right on through!

When you grow some experience whiskers you might learn a thing or two! First is don't pull your orange pumpkin truck into a thread and open that inexperienced mouth and think what you say about something you haven't had enough experience about overflow what most of us have forgotten about DAC/Hireright! You put 1 year experience on your profile we take it you're a rookie. You put that pretty orange truck on that profile then you know what we're going to think about you but that prissy little line that you've had "more of a (should be AN not A) amazing experience that (should be than not that) what you ever had" I seriously doubt it! I've had quiet a few of them since 1975!

Thankfully you didn't embarrass yourself by saying you've got more miles backing than I do going forward! But you learned one of those loser lines from off the CB! At least someone in the rookie ranks is using one and that's a good thing!
