Thanks again Roadmedic-apprechiate and will pass on this info. I guess cuz it's hubby's first he wants to be prepared. With luck his 34 hr reset may just coinside with this 72hr blitz or part of it.
I think you should suggest checking the police logs to Dieselbear and see what his response is!!![]()
When does the 72 hours start?

He is too honest.
Besides, he is off today.
sammycat and outerspacehillbilly Thank this. -
Funny enough last year I only saw 1 coop open all 3 days.
-
I can claim the same.
However, it had something to do with the route I took and the time I crossed the NM Port of Entry.
-
I heard that! I think this year is gonna be a go get em boys year since every state is pretty much bankrupt. I'll be taking the very scenic tours this year for 3 days anyway.
Roadmedic Thanks this. -
I volunteer a time or two a year if they don't happen to pull me in randomly. I like to keep a fairly current sticker on my truck whenever it's possible.
Nothing...It's the same inspection that they always do, There's just a more concentrated effort for these three days a year.
It's really no big deal if you have your act together.
I doubt seriously if they'll be looking much harder at things than they usually do.
Interstingly enough, I've never been inspected during the "blitz" I usually get pulled in when I'm least expecting it. -
In my part of Va they will set up on the little roads as well as the big roads. On the 4 lane road they will be on the side of the road or will be in one of the places they have made a wide spot on an exit ramp. On the main 2 lane road they have made wide spots and will be there. But they are normally there on Tuesday thru Thursday anyway. Roanoke County now has there own DOT and set up on Route 220 alot. I hope when my husband goes thru all the areas that they are busy with something else. Mostly here they go after the log trucks that are over loaded.

Outerspacehillbilly brings up a good point: states are pretty strapped for funds right now or is this a coordinated State/Fed effort? (LOL like those two agencies could ever coordinate anything!) Just seems like a waste since they do routine inspections anyways but I guess this is a 'scare' tactic to get some outfits up to speed??
-
It is the annual nationwide sting. It is ran by the state officers.
I guess if they find it profitable, maybe they will return next week.
-
I'll ask for a inspection every year in the spring (most of the time in April) to get a new sticker for the truck and trailer, that way I dont have to give 50 bucks to some truck stop funky mechanic for a periodic inspection. The state does it for free.
