well.... here is what my problem is...
most people dont know to look up there for companies when they come here.... and because our ladies in the recruiting department recomend this site to many of the the people the talk to through-out the day, they simply tell them to go to this site, and click on " mother carrier...." and look for the link to w.s
also... here everyone can ask and answer questions as they come an go.
how many times have you gotten on here, clicked on the " accident" section on the main page and was just toooo darn tired to look at other links..(<~~just as an example). thats whats going to happen and the w.s link as we once knew will be a simple part of our history....
putting the company up on the dac section and abandoning this extreamly usefull link on the main page where everything is put together is pretty dumb in my ut-most honest opinion
now. when people want to refer back to something on this link, they will have to spend much more time look for it going back pages upon pages out on the main "mcq" then, once the w.s thread is found will again have to sift through more pages....
i do feel as tho this did not need to be fixed " Dont Fix whats NOT broken"
i do hope you, along with all the other regulars and newbs to the thread get what im saying here...
again, this is only my opinon....
s2bsteelhorse61 and BBQPORKTRUCKER Thank this. -
I have to agree with you on this. Moving everything to the "DAC" report section is a lesson in futility.
That section should be reserved for complaints and compliments, much as a driver DAC is. Not an all around bull#### session.
Looking for information within a DAC, should be brief and to the point. By moving the "BS" to that area. New people will be forced to read through post after post of useless information I.E. "Hey guys I'll be in Missoula, Tuesday."
What good is that to a potential employee looking for a brief synopsis on a company?
This single thread is almost 2 years old, and very helpful to new guys. It allows them to track people over that period, and see the progress and failures that occurred. Most of the time, without the pissing contest that goes on in other threads.
Yes, savvy users of the net can use the search function and index. But, unlike truck drivers and potential truck drivers. Search engine companies KNOW for a fact, that most people wil NOT make it past page 2 of a search.
This thread consistently shows up as a "new post" within the first 5 pages. Most times, it shows within the first 2 pages. Making it a higher probability "hit" page for first time readers.
But...if the new guys want "their" thread to be the go to thread. So be it.
But this isn't a popularity contest on Facebook. This is about REAL life. Sal started this thread, and it has served it's function well. I actually had to look to see who started it...it's that irrelevant.BBQPORKTRUCKER and soon2betrucking Thank this. -
Thanks Dance... you did get into more realistioc details then i did, n i could not have said it any better.... i jump on here almost everyday, and go right the w.s link and i look to see who is posting what, and i am looking for the questions from the potential new drivers to the company... by having to go to the DAC section and click here n there an everywhere els ill lose intrest rather quick, specially at the end of my day after driving for 11 hours... the convenience of having everything right here in one location is great...
n yes, Sal started it 2 years ago and look how many people have found the ease of just hopin on here asking aaway an getting replies from current and past employees of w.s... even people who drive for other companies post on here... kabar for example..
now the new guys/gals to the forum are going to have look for the info and try and decide what thread under the dac they need/want to post their questions in and their will be a lot of " oh you can find that answer under such n such thread "
dance, hope all is well with you!!
take care!
(
like a tree hugger
, iv got myself chained to this thread and promise to not let it fade away in the distance like a stevens transport truck )

I notice Cage's thread on his 10 day in the dac is not there. Anyone know what happened to it?
-
It was there earlier today because I read it. Not sure what happened to it. I did a search but came up empty.
-
Yeah, I know...someone who frequently caused trouble on this site came along and started a bunch of trouble, some people kept feeding the troll, and before ya knew it, it was a flame war and was closed...then apparently removed. Hopefully it won't deter CAGE from starting another one and keeping us updated on how his orientation is going.
I'm sure the admins have a good reason for doing what they did, but in my most humble opinion, they should look at the person who causes the trouble and address that instead of locking and removing valuable information to other people....
edit: Good News! The admins have cleaned up CAGE's thread and reopened it to discussion. We just all need to make sure we keep it civil and if someone causes trouble, use the "report this post" button...they put a post in there stating how to do it.Last edited: Jun 7, 2010

Yes Warp I agree about feeding the trolls but people who hijack a thread and make it sound like a new driver is going to end up in prison needs to be called out with facts. I don't know what was said after I answered a question about web belts.
-
I just think they need to ban that guy from the forum altogether. He is nothing but trouble on all sites. I am glad they brought CAGE's thread back because I have enjoyed reading it. You guys have a good week.

DM You could not have said it any better. Thanks. TD.
