Harvest is getting closer. Farmers are getting their trailers out and getting ready to go. Right now thunderstorms to our east building to west, 50% chance of rain tonight.

I haven't seen any out of state hoppers but I bet they will be here shortly. Cargill went crazy last year and had way too many outside trucks for harvest. I was thinking they said they had 130 trucks for wheat harvest in two or three county area.

My wheat is ready, unfortunately my combine is still in the shop at Wichita, for their "winter service special"!(lol) Not too prompt with thier pickup and return of my combine. Hopefully will get it back tomorrow, or Thursday morning.

My son always starts hauling locally out of the Freeport elevator, most of the wheat goes to DeBruce in Wichita, so he's anxious to get started. He's "swiping" my radio out of my truck to put into his newer truck, today! :-( Actually, it is his radio anyway, but I told him it should go with the truck!(lol). Nice radio, has the Sirius Sat radio in it, but I couldnt talk him into leaving it for his Dad to use.

The .50"-.75" of rain we received in this area Sunday night, put a stop to the early guys doing some test cutting. Been so humid today, I haven't seen anybody trying to cut. People will probably give it a shot tomorrow afternoon, if we miss the rain wheathauler was mentioning.

Sounds like he's not the only one who went for the winter service special. That place is probably covered in combines.

Well, we got about a inch of rain last night. Hope this isn't going to be one of these long slow harvests...beginning to look that way. Hopefully harvest starts here by next week.
