There was guardrail damage with theone in NC on I-40. A road crew repaired the damage and din't even check it out. Truckers are just not important to nobody. That's the respect we get. Now if it had been a high dollar load, maybe!

and my question again: Where the hell was the company?? Not missing a truck/trailer worth how much $$$$ even empty??? Doesn't make sense....zentrucking Thanks this. -
I have a lot of friends who are drivers and they couldn't understand why I wanted to know where they were each day and an idea of their route. Several of them were "loners" and nobody had ever asked them to provide this info before. Once they knew why, they were happy to let me know, although a couple of them were shocked that anybody would care.
sammycat Thanks this. -
had a good friend die in his sleep in his truck on the mass tp in a service plaza family called all the local police, fire, mass pike personel nobody would look. they call me and i looked where he would regularly stop found him 2 days later truck still running (in mass of all places) called the cops they were very inconsiterate with me when they showed up. i geuss truck drivers are low priority for them.

That's just too sad....no one sees the driver or the truck except as an obsticle in their way on the road.
No one thought to check on a running truck for days??? -
Happened in the gorge in extreme Western NC. The story I heard was that he left SC earlier in the day, then apparently for whatever reason, left the road, going between the guard rail and a rocky outcrop. His truck ended up in the trees above the river and stayed there until fall when the leaves fell off the trees. I heard some people on the river actually spotted it first, finding it surprising that a truck was in the trees. Apparently the accident was substantially obscured from view even more so then usual due to the full trees. No one would have seen him from the road anyway. -

Holy smokes! I drive up, down, and around 322 in the Lewistown area at least twice a week. I haven't seen any signs of any truck disappearing into those trees. He must have picked a perfect spot to go off the road unseen.

This is something that happens more frequently than you think. I know that when I drive over the weekend, no one will miss me unless I dont arrive on Monday. I Keep my cell phone "location on", this way I hope someone will be smart enough to check my cell phone tower "pings". Of course if your phone gets smashed in the wreck that wont help. There is currently a missing trucker posted at the TA in Knoxville.
