i am in a tough situation. I have been off the road for a year in a half., i was let go at the last company because of safety record due to minor accidents. i have been off work for that year and a half as well
i have called many companies. Prime, JB hunt, werner, swift, covenant, us xpress, central refrigerated, carolina(have not heard back) CRST(no reply yet) and a few others i cant remember.
because i applied at carolina who is know for accepting felons(im not but figured i would be sought after) means i am getting frustrated.
national carriers seem picky at the moment and i understand why. i have been turned down because of the three following reasons above. i just want to get back on the road in a OTR situation. i really never thoguht it would prove this difficult.
a few have refered me to a few others. I am still int eh recruiter stages too.
CRST(from what i read) might be a good bet, but i have been calling all last week for the recruiter assigned only to get voice mail, went to the general box, still voice mail. i think i might be annoying the recruiter or something.
as for others, well no luck I know there are a thousand companies out there but if someone knows of a path inwards. still i can call each and everyone but would love some suggestions
because of my lack of bills, place to live, or family. i can stay out for months at a time. as long as i can eat and get the small bills paid i do have, i will just look at the time as getting in experience
i am calling a few on refresher courses and even have considered doing the CDL course with a company all over again if needed(i really would like to avoid a complete redo on that, but will if i have too)
i have been making the calls and getting info or leads for close to a month now. feels like i am no closer but i know at least i have more info
i want back on the road because of my unique situation
just need some pointers into a general direction...even if not the best company or the highest pay. i need the time under my belt
any help is greatly appriciated

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
