Got approved by Crete today.

i live in TN. maybe there will be one that lives here in chattanooga or somewhere close. that would be good. i just hope the one i get has a microwave and fridge. i dont need to be eating that ts garbage.

im about to take off for knoxville and stay with my mom during the prequal stuff. i get to kill 2 birds with one stone there so that is great.

good luck with the rest of your training. i dont have a laptop yet so what little i will post will be totally up to computer access. thanks for all your information, it has been really helpful. maybe we will cross paths one day at a terminal or at a fuel island and maybe grab a subway or something.

first day down, and the wait starts for the drug test results.

the workwell went exactly as stated, was a piece of cake. i really dont think anyone would have a problem with that easy test. it took about an hour to complete. it was not timed or anything. BP was taken at the start, and the pulse was checked for a baseline then twice more during the test.

i got to watch some videos and take a couple of tests, DOT physical and the road test etc. piece of cake. the knoxville yard is so small there was no where for the tractor and trailer connected to pull in the lot for a pre trip, so we decided to do it at the T/A after the road test.

during the road test, there was a severe line of storms that moved in right as we were about to pull in to the T/A.so we went tothe trailer drop yard, and tried to wait for the storm to clear. so she says i know its hard to see out of the mirrors, so back it in best you can as long as we are clear. i backed it in, could not see crap. it was raining so hard and the lot was double packed, the trailer behind me, beside me and behind that one looked like one grey smudge mark in the sideways rain. the storm knocked down tree limbs all over.

so we sat there, rain still coming down. so she had me do the pre trip from inside the cab, pointing at the location of each item while naming it off and what i would be checking and why. i dont blame her. it was not smart to be out around a bunch of trailers in the middle of a bad thunderstorm.

i have a little more paperwork to do tomorrow, and a hazmat vid and test. took a reefer test today. watched some videos with some bored drivers on the new cummins carbon cleaning system and how it works, then some dr. phil LOL

so far, so good. had a great chinese lunch. got the mega plate that had beef, pork, crab, shrimp, scallops, rice, that bland noodle soup etc.

I go to be processed on Monday (in Texas). They send you out with your trainer for 8 weeks first and then (for me anyway) drop you in Lincoln Nebraska where you go through 2 days of orientation. At the end of that they give you your truck and I would assume a load hedding back home.

 

I am just starting with Crete also. They are sending me with my trainer for 8 weeks first. Then dropping me off in Lincoln NB where I go through 2 days of orientation. At the end of that they give me my truck and I would assume a load hedding towards home. You should have gotten the fingerprint info from the DOT. You have to have them to be processed for hazmat.

 

Crete's a good company and I'm glad to see so many new guys coming on board! I'm new here on this site but been with Crete for about 4 years now and that's saying something!! I once worked a job for two hours went on break and kept walking That's not happening here, They do have the usual driver's that do nothing but whine and moan and they seem to hang out at the terminals, AVOID THEM poor morale is contagious. Keep a positive attitude And a clean (read legal) log, they watch it like a hawk! Just drive legal and log it as you drive it. I have NEVER had CCC question/push me about shutting down or running late due unsafe condition, or to push my log. That's very unlike other company's

Crete must have changed their rules. They never used to hire student drivers.
