I just passed my test to get my CDL class A on Friday. Out of 108 points on the pre-trip I got 104. The best advice I can offer is to remember the letters PMS and NCBB. PMS= Properly Mounted & Secure NCBB= Not Cracked Bent or Broken. I used those terms on almost all parts and did very well. Be sure to say "Not Leaking" on parts that contain any fluids or air.

I actualy learned this during the Pre Trip test for my Behind the Wheel...... Your air compressor should be checked for leaking fluid, including coolant (wich I didn't know, coolant ran through it, and according to the DOT tester not to many know that)

PMS and NCBB helps out a ton. Another thing I did (and excuse me if I took anybodies idea and made it my own) but I took my digital camera yesterday and took pictures all around the truck. I then brought it home and put it as a slide show. Its a great learning tool I think. That way you can practice mentaly and visualy. You know what you are suppose to look for right off the bat. Plus it only takes you half an hour a day.transportHER Thanks this.

Great idea! I'm going to do that.
