Cool. Ok I have three for right now. I guess you or anyone else on W/S payroll can answer. After your 10 day orientation, were you considered OTR or Regional? Second, about how many miles do you average starting out and did you acheive your bonuses? Lastly, assuming you do your job well and are in good standing with the company, are there any Local of dedicated run possibilities?

**Sidenote to S2BT** Yup, I was at the fair. My girlfriend and daughter came up. We stayed about an hour and left before it started raining. I mentioned to one of my classmates(Torpi i think his last name was) and said that you were there but didnt have a chance to speak with you.

You are OTR to start, they really dont have regional runs anymore. There are local runs and you can get on with them if they need help, if you prove yourself and can handle it they can put you on Local earlier than a year. Some even manage to make it into Local before their 90 days are up.

When you first your mileage will be whatever you can handle, they treat you just as any other driver in the company, your expected to drive. I do however think and this is my own opinion that at first they are a tad bit easier on ya. I got good miles when I started but also I kept moving as much as possible. I never turn down a load, hell I wanted to be home this week, I got a run that passed right by my house however I took it only because where I was going I knew there is a 99.9999% chance there is a run going back to where I want to be. So the extra day out never hurt me and I got an extra 1400 miles out of it. Cant complain there.

If you can drive and are willing to put the time in the miles are there, thats for sure. Hell I in the past 4 weeks ive drivin alot of miles, more than I can remember, I went from Southern California to Maryland, then down to North Carolina then over to Vancouver, Wa now I am in Phoenix, AZ, and gonna head back to Socal. I got to see some cool stuff and now I am going back home for a few days to relax. Then its off to "sightsee" again lol...

And yes I did sightsee this trip, when I got to Maryland I took off for my reset into Washington DC and got to visit some stuff. I enjoyed that and hope to do it again sometime.

To re-iterate what Deserted said, when I first started out, I was busy. Hell, I've been busy for the past 7 months, but that's probably because I never turn down a load and I'm never late to my appointments. If I can't make an appointment on time, I call the customer and re-schedule, hence, not late. Dispatch was really good to me in my first few months and kept me out of the NE and on some easy runs, but once I got the hang of it they sent me to NJ/NY. Didn't mind though.

MM, you are applying to a good company. I am also an ASCS grad (Baltimore) and was too far away from WS for them to accept me. I currently drive for Crete.
