Would I get better rates with a clean truck? :biggrin_25523:
After what this winter did to her, she needs a buff and polish - and I haven't had that kinda time yet this year. I was home for all of about 72 hours in the last month. Plates and property tax are due this month, so it's been hammer down!

Well you do have a sharp outfit and every time I see your trucks they are clean.

You can have the payment book anytime you want. :biggrin_2559:

Well thats a start, I seen a Timpte in town that had a lot of lights on it and boy did that look good.

Well I wished it was that way, but I have been to some customers that did compliment on my equipment and I try to keep it clean and polished. If a customer notices your truck and compliments it is a plus. Know some guys don't care they just want it hauled cheap but I have seen customers comment on equipment from other companies that had parts hanging off and hadn't been washed in months. So I think the key is to make a good impression, be on time, keep your equipment in good shape and clean and take care of the customer, sometimes you have to go that extra mile to please them but the reward is maybe you get the haul and they don't mind paying extra for it.

Well the rates are better when things are good on flats, but the last year or two when things went in the toilet you seen a lot of guys went to pulling hoppers and then that didn't help the hopper rates. My goal is to get my truck payed off, lighten up some and buy a hopper and do some local/regional hauls and be home. I might make less (who knows) but when your home more or almost every night that is a big plus.

Not sure the flats didn't start pulling hoppers again by the amount of hoppers in town. Wish I had a dollar for every load that was dumped I wouldn't have to work for quite a while.

You'll be able to haul most everything with that trailer. Sunflowers, midds, ddg, etc.
