Jewel in Melrose Park is your typical grocery wharehouse that every driver hates. They used to start at 9pm and run till morning, but I heard they recently changed to normal type hour, but I havent been in there for a few months.

Get out your wallet. Lumpers. Try to snag a pallet jack and run those 5 skids off yourself. That will lessen the lumper bill.

No parking inside Jewel, save 1 hour prior to app. There is room to park on the street, but the cops like to fight crime by writing parking tickets.

first and only time i went in 1994, they had a dock inside a building; looks to have been built when the longest trailer was 40'. docs were impossible to get into with a 53' trailer, so they charged you $10 to spot it for you with their yard truck.

Took a frozen load to supervalu in Brea,ca and showed up 2 hrs early. They put me in a door right away and got me unloaded quick. I was surprised!

I never had any problems at the Melrose Park Jewel. Always in and out real quick. I was held up by the shipper and late one time and they still got me out in two hours.

Anyone using GPS to the 17th Ave address doesn't work because of a restricted neighborhood.

Go in on 15th Ave and go to the 2nd stop and turn left and they are there on the right at the RR tracks.

its not the drivers fault they have to sit and wait--maybe talk to reciever--they are the ones that schedule the trucks--dont blame the drivers who are just doing their job so you can wake up in the morning from your nice warm bed and eat breakfast

Yessir, believe us when we say drivers hate to be in your neighborhood as much as you hate us being there. The answer to your problem is for the citizens to put pressure on Jewel to change their policy. We have very little choice.

By any chance do you or anyone else in your family EAT FOOD? Do you ever shop at JEWEL? If so, you mite want to scratch your head and figure out how all the food is transported to the store, probably not by a bicycle messenger! You want to get rid of trucks in your area then move to the middle of No- where!
