Werner Lonestar..

Nice shot. I have actually seen a werner lonestar once before. I wonder how many of them they have.

I met a guy that has a Lonestar and I was asking about it. He said from the windshield back it's the same as a prostar just has a few more options.

 

One of the most prominent options is UGLY!

I think those are the ugliest trucks to come out since the Dodge Bighorn!

 

I like the Dodge better.

 

I love those Bighorns. There is a nicely restored one at a Irving truckstop outside of Halifax.

 

Back in the mid seventies we had a leaser that bought one...It was a strange truck indeed.
The hood was HUGE and then there was this little tiny 1950's style pickup truck cab grafted onto it!
There was absolutely NO room in the cab to turn around and get in the sleeper without going through some strange contortions.
It was noisy and terribly uncomfortable.

Picture the smallest classic conventional cab that you can think of and then make it about 20% smaller.

The one in the photo above looks nice and has a walk in sleeper on it...They didn't come with a walk in sleeper, They came with a 36" coffin box with a small crawl through window. But if you really look at it, You can see what I'm talking about as far as the tiny cab.

 

I know exactly what you are talking about. The cab is a 1950's pickup cab. It's even smaller than a 359 Pete. I can guarantee the heat and noise inside is as bad or worse than a B-61 Mack. I wouldn't want to drive one more than a few miles. I like the looks of the Bighorn more than the Lonestar, which reminds me of the clown truck on that trucking movie I can't remember the name of right now. As far as comfort, the Lonestar would win hands down.

 

This makes me laugh....I just saw that movie recently and I commented to my wife when the "Clown Truck" appeared..."Hey maybe that's where International got the idea for the hideous Lonestar" She looked at it and had to agree.

I was kind'a wondering if anyone else had made that connection.
