I went to a truck stop in Weatherford, TX today. It is at I-20 and exit 406. It wasn't very crowded. The fellow in the red flatbed truck said he has been trucking since 1973. He is an owner operator and he says he can't make any money anymore because there is too much regulation. He says an APU is going to cost him $10K.

The fellow driving the Wal Mart truck was a 30-something Mexican guy with lots of tats. But he said he is home every night or every other night running to OK and TX. His truck is leased to Swift. He said he and his brother run 2 trucks, and they make 17K/month. How about those shower facilities?

They all look familiar. Owen's meats are really good. Just can't squeeze a truck down that street!

Thanks. The beef jerky was pretty good, but it wasn't the best I've ever had. Check out the price of diesel about 2 years ago when I went on this trip.
