What kind of mileage are you guys getting out of a T600 with a 450 cummins isx? I'm looking at buying one right now with a 10 speed and 3.55 gears and was wondering how good they are on fuel. I'll be pulling flatbed. Thanks for any help!

You should have no trouble getting at least 6 mpg, but pushing 7 mpg or better would not surprise me.
-
Cant tell you on a 450 but my 475 isx 13 spd and 3:55s with 15,000 miles on a fresh inframe cheyenne wy to ogallala ne.145 miles delivered then went to the TA and retopped the fuel tanks 7.7 mpg # 67 mph with a touch over 80,000 lbs.

How was the wind on your back door? thats a pretty windy area so it would bump you up a little going east but either way 7.7!!! Thats freakin awesome at 67MPH. I am just proving my point when I see threads like this
These big companies going 62MPH max in there trucks with these detuned engines getting 6.5 if there lucky.... -
I work for a bulk tanker outfit hauling frac sand to well sites........
Keep in mind that half our run is empty....loaded we're always at 80,000.....but along with that is an hour or more at fast idle on the well unloading with a product blower that sucks up a LOT of fuel.
We run T-800s and Intl 9200s with ISXs at 450 hp and 10 speeds///3.70gears.
In one of our T 800s (Day cab) I averaged 6.8 mpg last week on a run from Ft Worth to just South of Bossier City, La and back..........70 mph on the highway. -
I drove 2 different t-6 kw one with a cummins and one with a cat. The cat avg was abt 6.1-6.2 the cummins was 6.8-7.1 depending where I was running and how heavy I was. Both trucks were cut back to 65mph I really liked the cummins motor. I think you will too.

-i had a 435 detroit, t-600 a 1997 no less,my average was 6.3 to 6.8 with a 9 speed, the fuel mileage veried ,depending on where i was at.if comeing out of west virgina crawling thru the mountains it was 6.3,flat land i ran 6.8,,and it had a freash rebuild in it,,,,,she was no speed demon in the mountains but flatland pulling a flatbed ,she did ok..... i never broke the 7.0 mpg,,,,,just thought id thro that in there

Thanks, that sounds great! I was getting around 5 mpg in my Pete so the savings alone should make up enough to almost pay the payments each month. Hopefully....

Your right about a windy area it was a calm morning.
OK here is one topped rawlins wy fly j to wallcot south to monte vista colorado all mountians crushing the fuel peddle to floor going up and butt pucker comming down , tried to maintain 67mph,,, mph unknown,,, delivered 86,500 lbs gross ,,,re topped monte vista 4.98 mpg -
thats still really good for mashing down on it and being in those mountains.
