All I can say is I hope you don't have many bills to pay at home. After your road expenses you will be lucky to bring home $200 a week. After training you'll be lucky to bring home $300 a week.
Steve14 Thanks this. -
Money is not that great at all at first, but once after training you just need to hope to get good miles.
-
since you only have to do 140 hours, you'll be considered a co-driver you get $400 a week..
-
be smart, try to bring your own food with you, and you shouldnt have much in expenses.. thats what i did, and i spend alomst nothing while i was out..
Steve14 Thanks this. -
Before I lost my job with Werner last year I was only bringing home 350.00 a week. And I was on a dedicated Walmart Acct. and I was with them over a year.
-
yeah student drivers make 350 week and co drivers make 400 week and that is all taxed unless you have elected to sign up for per diem
Marie1984 Thanks this. -
Select the per diem is a life saver while your training and from what i've heard it pretty nice once your out on your own as well. The only problem and the reason I am leaving is good luck finding out what your getting paid after. In the month I've been here, Noone has been able to tell me what i'll be making. If your not team you get paid slidding scale for regional, but you will run 48. I hate to say it but if you have any other choices, I would seriously consider them first. Good luck to ya.

i agree with partyleprechaun it just wasnt for me after my first week with them, and it takes a lot for me to give up but im am sure of there being many better ran trucking companies out there. good luck to you

In training? Never worked out that way for me, at all. After training, sure, absolutely.
So true.
Hell, $200 a week in training would be very lucky.
Plan on a worst case scenario of paying taxes with zero exemptions on your w4, because the payroll people that deal with this are morons. I had zero exemptions the whole time i worked at werner, they could not change it, so i gave up. Results in nice tax returns though. I spend too darn much on the road, so i'd estimate more like $150 a week during trainer!
After training though, up until the last 2 months that I worked for werner, I was averaging a take-home of $600 a week. Road expenses $150 at the worst (i spend too much on the road!), so i'd end up with $450. Not too bad.
Please see this thread for the reasons I left, which are mostly about money. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...114336-ah-finally-leaving-big-blue-screw.html
actually its not, its a scam and will screw you if you ever need unemployment or workmans comp. See my many other posts on the subject.Steve14 Thanks this.
