For some reason Stevens thinks resets are "bad". And they claim that you can not do a reset while under a load, which is a Stevens policy, but NOT a DOT regulation. Question them on it though, and they will say it is a DOT regulation. But they will not show it to you in writing.

Love it when they repower me to another load I can not make, just goes to show how little they think ahead.

Or dispatch me on a great load going from laredo to Portland Or, only 8000 lbs too, due on Friday, which I could do with a full log book. But I have a big fat 0 (zero) coming back wednesday. Zero due to the above mentioned policy. Although the truck did not move for a full 38 hours last week.

The games stevens plays due to always having to put out the latest running late load is wearing very thin with me. They know how many hours we have, if they would just take the time to look. They know before we are ever dispatched if we can make the delivery, if they would just look. But the mind set is, get the load moving, we will deal with keeping the load moving later. I wonder if there even is a planning department.

The lack of communications is amazing...we are nothing but mushrooms....

Repower on this load is set for Albuquerque, no problem. This morning after I have started rolling I get the message, "you will have a 17:30 appt, you ok with that? C"
Not now i am not, as I started my clock at 0630, 14 is up at 2030, which is 1930 mountain time. And we can not park any where close in Los Lunas. Simple communication yesterday, would have prevented todays problems, as I would have started out just a little earlier, so that I could fit in an 8 hour break, then make the delivery, and been able to leave.

So now, I and another truck sit and wait, him to make his delivery, with a brand new student, and me to wait to be empty, so I can wait until sometime tomorrow to be dispatched. And then he will have to run like hell to make the Friday AM appointment. She don't care.

One year off the road means going thru the whole training shebang. Not an entirely bad thing tho.

Greetings, everyone! Orientation begins on Sunday and ends on Wednesday. Once the trainee is assigned a trainer at 4:30 or so...when do they take off?

Well, have a new student, Jim. This is going to be a fun one. Here's the setup. Did a repower this morning in Wichita KS. When I arrived, I had Jim go ahead and swap the trailer while I was talking to the other driver. I told the other driver that Jim is on his second day of training and thanks to the way I train to back up and the secret that I use to teach it, he's really good at it.

Jim of course put the trailer straight in the hole in one shot, amazing the driver who asked me the secret. Jim has 12 years experience and is getting back in to trucking. ROTFL!!!!!! EEEEEvil!

Depends on where you meet your trainer.
Sometimes they send you to them, rather than their coming to you.
But once you meet up, you're off and running.
the trick is sometimes not everyone is assigned a trainer until friday or saturday. Depends on availability, schedules, etc.
    Don't worry, tho...you'll get there!
(and you're on training pay even if the trainer takes a couple days)
