I just write down my tripometer reading at every state line. Then do the calculations at the end of the night.

I reset it every morning & what my triometer reads at the end of the day is my total mileage for that day.

29 palms? Never been there. I do believe Dr. Katz was there recently within a month or two ago.

Yeah I know I'm a little late at responding.... I was detained for a spell by the forum police! Anyhow, You are more then welcome to go get your own trailer. Get your own financing.... Mercer doesn't care! But think about this.... You finance your trailer, your only allowed to write off the interest & depreciation off on taxes..... I LEASED my trailer from Mercer. And since it is a monthly LEASE of $600.00 a month for a brand new trailer..... I'm able to write 100% of that LEASE payment off on taxes!

So technically the LEASE Mercer provides on their trailers benefits the driver's who opt for the lease better then the driver who is against the lease & goes to get their own equipment.

Yeah! I will agree with that!

I stay out as long as I want & go home for as long as I want. Been out since April 15th as of right now. My choice though! If you were here last year, you'd understand!!!! Freight is up & I'm taking as much as I can while it is up. Who knows what this winter will bring.

    July 15th I believe.

First of all.... We don't have driver managers.

Second.... This guy sounds like a Whiny Sissy piece of crap. I think he is full of himself & not very truthful. Listen to all that vulgar language.... If you spoke too your boss down at the corner gas station like that, would you still be employed? And agents can't black ball people on freight.... Never had that authority & never will. They are just as independent as the driver's.

Mercer isn't for everyone! They won't hold your hand & guide your way! And to me, it sounds like he was looking for someone to babysit him.

Knowles will do more damage to your equipment then good.... Putting a headache rack on is fine as long as you don't mind getting bent over for $100. As for anything mechanical...... RUN RUN RUN FAR AWAY FROM KNOWLES!

    tk40176.....

When did you lease on? I was in Louisville on May 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. I could swear I spoke to a man just leasing on from Brooklyn..... But then again I can barely remember what I was doing 5 minutes ago.

OK.... Just so I could possibly get a little more understanding about that guy's complaints.... I just went thru & watched all his video's. My curiosity got a hold of me when I noticed that all his outside truck video's didn't show his unit number. Hmmmmm.... Mercer requires you to have your unit number on your truck & trailer... So I began paying attention even closer.... Enlarged a couple of video's..... And I finally saw his unit number.

Now anyone on this forum who has sat thru Mercer's orientation will tell you that one of the first thing they tell you in orientation is that a new driver leasing on needs to give it a year to learn the Mercer system. Some catch on rather quickly while others are slower. But even the slower learner's learn the system within a year.

Now as to how Mercer assigns unit numbers..... The smaller your number, the longer you've been with the company!

I leased on with Mercer the last week of July 2009. My unit number is 11411. I have not been with Mercer a full year as of yet.... I have one more month to make my year mark.

Now after watching a crap load of disgruntle video's with the hopes that I could find out what his true complaint was.... I was able to successfully notice this guy's unit number of 11500.

This guy leased on after me.... And by the number, I'd say a couple months after me.

So I honestly believe that this guys rants are more out of frustration do to the fact that he was not able to learn Mercer's system as quickly as he probably would of liked. Plus with his lauguage & attitude, I believe he just didn't have the right stuff to be a Mercer contractor. Come on now, think about it! If you fly off the handle & cuss the company who signs your paychecks.... Do you think they will continue signing them? Or would they tell you to go on your merry little way?
