I know what the typical questions are with regards to DUI's. Some companies have a zero tolerance policy and some will except dui's after x amount of years like mentioned above. All I'm saying, lying on an app. will surely kill your chances vs just being truthful. I've heard of some people getting caught for a lie and being canned after years of employment.

I agree with you Mike. Some companies may trash the app. if it's marked yes but those are the ones that wouldn't hire DUI's anyway. So why take the chance of being classed as a liar? Better to check the hiring requirements of the company before filling out the app.

Guys I have the same prob as the guy that started this post. I have 3 total in a lifetime and the last one being in 92, I am trying to get a hob driving but no one is even looking my way due to the DWI's. I am being honest cause I don't want it to bite me in the butt if I am to find a job. All the recruiters are saying that the pool of workers is wide open for any company, and some companies are self insured so they won't even look my way, maybe in a year. Sorry can't wait that long, I work for a temp company bustn my butt for 8 dollars and hour doing Walmart remodels. Don't want to do that much longer! Any suggestions?
Oh yea I also forgot to mention that I read a story that by or in 2011 there will be a shortage of 40,000 drivers from cnn. Are the recruiters just going pushing through (the easy ones) and not paying attention the to future? -
I understand the honesty part, but unless you still have the papers from a 20yr old dui, you can't even prove it happened, so why would you even disclose it on an app.? It's like when my dad retired, he applied for a part time job where I use to work. He had driven for 1 company for 38yrs, one of the questions was "did you graduate high school?" He answered no, the manager handed the app back to him and said that is a disqualify answer, here's another app for you to fill out, he changed his answer, and has been there 11yrs now part time, he's 68. My point is, you have to use some common sense, these apps weren't written up by rocket scientists.
Crotts Trucking Thanks this.
