~~~~~~~May I have y'all's attention please.
This post is primarily for those of you out there in the reading audience who prefer to believe that those of us trying to inform folks and warn them about the questionable business ethics and practices of C.R. England are just mean-sprited, washed-up has-beens with a negative attitude who enjoy bad-mouthing and bashing a decent truckin' company because we're too old to handle the program.
If y'all prefer to remain narrow-minded and short-sighted, read no farther. If y'all continue reading, do so at y'all's own risk.
Well, to his credit, Cowboy got it right when he said "More to come".
Read on, .........................................................
You're welcome, Cowboy.
However, it's my opinion that you're wrong. But that's just my observation.I'm glad you're keeping an open mind to change.Hmmmmmmm ----- who's fault was that?
Let me guess, ........ C.R. England told you it was that driver's 'poor work ethics' that caused the problem, not C.R. England's fault in any way.
But, how can that be twue?
Doesn't CRE tell y'all about their excellent training program?
Obviously that lease driver passed the course. Perhaps he had a driver trainer who sleeps on the job and missed an opportunity to properly instruct that lease driver on how to avoid makin' a mistake?
Oh well, easy come -- easy go.
No big thing. All CRE did about it was to destroy that lease driver's chance to succeed a tad sooner when they didn't give him any more dispatches, knowing full well that would prevent him from making his lease payments. That means CRE could re-lease that guy's Big truck to yet another, ......... uhhhhh, dreamer(?)
Just imagine what would have happened if CRE wasn't so forgiving of mistakes. After all, CRE forgave his first mistake, ..... that being when he signed the lease contract. He's lucky CRE didn't do more, like put him deep(er) into debt.
Ya reckon.If you want my trust, you'll have to earn it. At this point, it's wait and see.
Open your eyes, Cowboy.Thank you for your service to this country.
I assume you receive a retirement pension from the Marine Corps. If that's enough for you to live on, and reimburse CRE for what they'll claim you owe them, you'll have nothing to worry about.
My-0-My!
What a difference a day makes.
Are you tellin' us that your retirement combined with 16 cents a mile isn't enough to "live off" of?
What are you gonna do now?The blind leading the blind?
You want advice?
Why?
You obviously don't take advice very well, --- if at all.
Had you taken our advice in the first place, you wouldn't be where you are now, --- asking for what you ignore.
You received my advice already, along with advice from others with years of experience. I figure you need to experience things for yourself before you'll accept reality, rather than avoid it. So, ....
Instead of advice, I offer a suggestion, ..........
Go for it! Sign that binding contract. Don't be concerned with the terms that you're agreeing to abide by, written by a company that, in your own (very short) experience you've admitted already, "lied" to you. And how many others over the years?
What could possibly go wrong in the next six months?
Who could resist the temptation of being their own boss?
How hard can driving a Big truck be?
Besides, all those countless failures were the bosses fault, not the company's. You won't make the same mistake they did, right?
What do you reckon was their first mistake?
Hint: If you didn't guess their first mistake was to sign a lease agreement, your answer is probably incorrect.
If you've already committed yourself by signing a lease contract, the possibility that you'll make many more mistakes is outstanding. And C.R. England is counting on you making many more mistakes. No mistake on CRE's part though. Mistakes made by their leased drivers puts money in their account. From your bank account to their's. So easy, even a caveman would wind up broke.
All I ask of you is that whatever happens, or doesn't happen as the case may well be, keep us informed. Don't just drop off the edge of the earth and disappear like so many before you seem to have. I figure they're so successful they don't want to hurt our feelings by reporting that we're wrong about C. R. England being a shabby, rip-off company.
Just think, you might be the first to be able to tell us 'I told you so'.
How cool would that be?
WAIT!
HOLD IT THAR!
STOP THAT TRUCK, Driver.
Rollover the Original has something to say.
So, happy trails, until we meet again, I say Semper Fi, and good luck.
Don't confuse Cowboy with the facts, Rollover.
Not necessarily so,amigo.
They probably DO have company trucks available. What CRE is tellin' their recruits amounts to what's called a 'lie'. That's what CRE does best.
Nothing personal though. They lie to everyone. It's all about greed and profit at the expense of others. Just keep in mind that
The Love Of Money Is The Root Of ALL Evil.
That should shed some light on who you're really dealin' with.Not to mention every penny plucked from the pockets of wannaBeesIt appears that their figures aren't too far off, if at all, ..... evidenced by the number who sign their life away.
Good advice, Rollover.
Problem is, Cowboy isn't prone to taking advice.So, what's your point?I don't think I'd be comfortable being under the command of a leader who ignores good advice. Especially going into battle.Excellent analogy.One can only wonder what they dream about in their sleep. $$$
I admire your optimism in spite of being overwhelmingly outnumbered. Fix bayonets. Prepare for hand-to-hand combat. Be advised, this could get ugly, ..... real quick.
If that's your advice to Cowboy, IMO, this time he'd do well to ignore it.
Remember who he's dealin' with here. If he comes off like that, the powers that be CRE will, most likely, get even with Cowboy for displaying logic and reason. They could make it a slow and quite painful failure as a warning to others who might be thinkin' about doin' the same thing. When it comes to thinkin', CRE thinks that is reserved for them only.I'm glad you brought that up, Rollover.
Now I don't have to. That'll save me a lot of typin' time.CRE gets to screw two for the price of screwin' one?
No doubt CRE would jump on that bargain.
How could they justify missin' an opportunity like that?That's Aflack. And the duck is a quack.~ Tough decision. ~
As I recall, the Indians won that battle because General Custer didn't listen to the advice of those with more experience fighting Indians on their own turf. But that's history now.
I hear it said that history repeats itself though.
I wonder, can it then be said that those who ignore history are bound to repeat it?
What do they call someone who does the same thing over and over and over again, expecting different results?
I forget now.
Memory,
Second thang to go
don't'cha know.
Dittos what "Roolover said.
ROOLOVER has a brain fart problem at times! Comes from waaay to much radiation, chemo and freaking brain surgery!
Especially that late at night!
Rollovercowboy1219 and AfterShock Thank this. -
Welcome to TRUCKING. Just suck it up do the company team untill you have enough experience to move on to another company.
Just remember training from and independent school is about $5000. so just suck it up for now.cowboy1219 and AfterShock Thank this. -
Well, Cowboy, thar ya go. Morgan hit the head right on the nail. :smt021
You're there now and you've gotten a small taste of how bad it can be. After spending a year there, just about any truckin' company will seem good. You'd be battle tested. Why throw in the towel if CRE is your only choice? And why not do as Morgan suggested, and run company team, --- at least for awhile? You're talkin' about runnin' team in a leased Big truck anyway, why not team in a company Big truck? It WILL be MUCH easier without the hassle and stresses and complications associated with a lease. Pay could be better as well.
Just about anything seems to be possible at CRE. There's a chance a dedicated gig will become available that's a solo driver's dream, and you could land that and be happy enough to make your time there seem to go by quicker.
Keep in mind that loose lips sink ships. Don't get into discussions with CRE staff. Roolover, ......... uhhh, that is, .... ROLLOver suggested playing dumb. I do that, only I ain't playin'
--- and it works for me. Just do what'cha gotta do when ya gotta do it, and observe.
Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer. The more y'all know about your enemy, the better. If y'all don't know what they're up to at all, commence to worryin' --- 'till you find out.
HaiL!
Why am I tellin' you somethin' you already know? As a Marine, retired, but always a Marine, you know more ways to size up the opposition and, when necessary, thump a melon in more ways than many could even think of.
If goin' to battle requires a journey of a thousand miles,
make sure the journey is your enemies to make.
And it wouldn't hurt to provide them with a bogus address.
Stay focused, Cowboy. Clear thinking is important.
If you're so inclined, I recommend prayer. Ask.
Thy will be done.
cowboy1219 and Kimono_skunk Thank this. -
I think he sees the light! HOORAH!
AfterShock and cowboy1219 Thank this. -
Yeah, but it is better to see the light before you go into the tunnel. There is no place to turn around....
-
Hmmmm...so how do Stevens and US Xpress compare to CRE? I am getting concerned... -
I am not crazy about stevens. If it were me I would go USX. I know they have issues, but I think they would be a better choice.
-
I don't know how much reading that you've done here at this site, but I'm guessin' not as much as you could/should have. So let me assure you, you're not the first to do what you've done, and I think it's safe to assume --- you won't be the last. It's what you do from this point that matters now. We can't change the past, but we can affect our future. That should be your focus, sir.I know!
I can feel your anger over here in SoCal.
You're at a good place to vent, though. Much better here than out on a highway.
Although, I think the decision(s) you made wasn't/weren't correct actions and the responsibility for such was and is, your's., I'm also aware that for every action, there's an equal and opposite RE-action, in this case in the form of venting.
All things considered, I think you're entitled to a pair of stainless steel, 15 inch diameter straight stacks to assist your evacuation of frustration and anger, 'cause waayyy down deep, under the frustration and anger -- you'll find something more familiar. That'll be your resolve, determination, positivity and wisdom, right where you left them, before other emotions poured in and buried them.
You know that you have to find your inner intestinal fortitude 'cause you're gonna be needin' that real soon for decisions comin' up.If I were you, in the same situation, I'd be tempted to jack 'em around just enough to throw their mojo off-balance to see who will handle me when I'm dumb as a rock.
I can trip 'em up, keep 'em guessing, nervous and in fear of my recoil.
The thing I wouldn't do is the expected. They're braced for a full frontal attack. They all have buttoxes though, ---- who's watchin' theirs? I suspect no one, ..... at least no one clever enough to prevent my flankin' 'em and attack 'em in a way they aren't expecting. See how well they can wing it in unfamiliar territory for a change. The last thing they'd expect is a clever dumb guy pullin' their collective chain, --- laughin' at 'em the whole time that they're bein'had --- Big time.THERE IT IS!!!
THERE IT IS !!!
I told you you'd find it.
Resolve and reactive anger. Keep the reactive anger in check and you can git-er-dun.
Yee-HA!
Cowboy up, Cowboy.
You can ride this bull a full 8-seconds.
Show 'em you ain't beat.
Do the unexpected. Be Cool, Calm, Collected and matter-of-factual.
Yellin' and name callin'? They're used to that, that's their game and they're good at it. Don't play it. Play them instead. Play 'em right and they'll remember you for a long time. They won't be able to put their finger on just what it was about you, but whatever it was, it kept 'em all shook up.Don't let on that you're aware of what they're doin'. Let 'em think that they've brainwashed you. That'll stroke their egos sufficiently enough for 'em to gloat. That'll get 'em to lower their defense shields.
Then, it's all over 'cept for the shoutin'. And this time it'll be their shouts. Most likely out of frustration.
I'd have to decide if I'd make them aware that they've been had, or just let 'em remain in a fog.
My angle could be that, after experiencing the CRE adventure tour, I realize it's not Big truck truck drivin' I'm interested in, like I first thought I was. But now, I know what I want to be.
A recruiter.
And to demonstrate my abilities to deceive, on the last day, let 'em know they took my bait, hook, line and sinker. If I can con a con, it'd be a(nother) feather in my cap.
Ya reckon.
Hang in there, Cowboy.
Get yourself back together.
Collect your thoughts and keep 'em fresh and readily accessible on a moments notice. They'll come in handy.
Ask 'em irritating questions that are difficult to answer.
Remember their answers. Trip 'em up with their conflicting answers during class with the other students present to witness their egos deflate.
Have a great Monday, Cowboy.
We're rootin' for you,
You can do this.
Just stay focused and think twice --- speak once.
cowboy1219 and Kimono_skunk Thank this.
