This sounds a little harsh, but without knowing all the details who knows but some breakdowns limit the driver from getting it to desired location. I've always been afraid of breaking down in one of the tunnells that go underwater, you know down then back up, I don't think you could get triangles out before something bad would happen, especially if you blew a turbo and filled the tunnell with thick smoke.

Talk about a lack of information in that story. The way it reads it sounds like he was off the road, but then they say he was obstructing the highway. What the heck couldnt the newspaper afford a photographer to get a picture. Wouldnt the police release any of their pictures. This is a bad situation for that driver and I think it's always at the back of all of our minds. When my truck caught on fire I was lucky that it happened right by an off ramp so I was safely out of everyones way. I wish that driver good luck because he's gonna need it, it's not like he purposely caused that accident.

Sounds to me like his truck was on the shoulder, but he put his triangles in the travel lane.

So it's the driver's fault the passenger in the 4 wheeler wasn't wearing a seat belt?

I would definitely like to see some more detail on this as well. Just not enough info to go on.

It sounds like he threw the triangles immediately behind his trailer if not partially in the travel lane.

The catcher is he didn't follow regulations. Like the other poster said, triangles go 10', 100' and 500' back on the other side of the curve. Simple laziness or lack of knowledge is ruining his life.

I try to help other drivers when I see them sitting on the shoulder with no flashers or triangles. Even parking on a ramp. Someone hits you or wrecks, even a drunk and your goose is cooked. CYA!
