I have worked for Pride Air Express for 7 years. They have treated me right every time I have a problem or a concern they address it in a timely manner. They are running newer trucks so fewer break downs. (That means more miles for me) I can honestly say I thought that I was going to have a problem with the Electronic Logs that they run. I am very impressed on the fact that they are very simple to operate and are driver friendly. They save me time when I roll into a port and they want to inspect my logs it takes an inspector about 2min. if they inspect me at all. I would like to say that Pride Air is an up and coming company they are ahead of the industry with the on board dispatching equipment. I'm very proud to say I work for Pride Air Express.

Funny, I worked for Pride Air Express for 6 months. Yes they are out of Idaho Falls Idaho, Yes they run electronic logs. Yes the Safety Director/Recruter lies. The pay is .28 cpm they say .29 for experianced drivers. I am a runner and by all means should have gotten over 13,000 miles a month, I averaged 11,300 to 11,500 a month. After the first 3 months I was ready to quit, I mentioned it to the dispatcher and suddenly the miles picked up...but not for long, a week or so they would drop again, then pick up then drop, ect ect.. and then lied to that freight was slow, so I hung in there thinking next week would be differant. 1 week would be good the next not. I would have to do a reset on my hours and 2 or 3 days later, forced to reset as they wouldn't get me a preplan BEFORE I delivered, this happened more then not, I think out of the 6 months I worked there I got a confirmed load 3 times before I delivered. My deliveries and pick ups were 99% early in fact, alot of times any where from 4 hrs. or more, to a day early, send in a empty call and be prepaired to sit 4 to 6 hours. If I was late it wasn't due to my lack of ability. I got a 3 month raise 3 months later, with the company, and you think they pro rated it back 3 months, not. My truck had issues 1 1/2 months on the job, I spent 2 1/2 weeks trying to get it fixed, in and out of the shop 4 times in that period. First it was a head gasket which was bad when I got the truck, They sent me out for 2 weeks before getting it fixed, I had to add 2 gals a day antifreeze. Then a week later it started smoking black smoke, I told the safety guy it was the EGR valve, first they replaced the air to air cooler, then sent me to Denver, low on power and problem still there. then the stupid shop tried to clean the EGR, and they tried to send me to Detroit, low on power smoking like a banchi and getting 2 miles to the gal. I called the dispatcher and told him what was going on and they routed down to Salt Lake to Sapp Bros to get it fixed..EGR valve and Turbo, which the mechanic at their Idaho Falls shop said he checked the turbo and it was good at the time they replaced the air to air cooler. And did I get paid for down time this whole time OH NO. And the problems where not due to me. Just mechanical wear and tear. The office closes at 4:30 pm try calling between 4:30 and 7:00am and week ends and the person on the other end of the phone acted like you were putting them out, and don't even think about getting a load on the weekend it isn't going to happen. I sat ever weekend for Easter weekend, Mothers Day week end, Fathers Day weekend, Presidents Day weekend, MLK Day weekend, Momorial weekend, I did how ever beat them to the punch on 4th Of July weekend and asked for it off. I will say this...anytime I wanted home they got me home, but I would have to drive my butt off to get home on the day I asked off. The Safety/Recruiter at any time is to busy to really talk to you, he's to busy working on what drills he is going to do for soccer practice that week. BTW a week after I got my raise I left, and was told I slapped them in the face. No I got slapped repeatedly. They just were pissed that they lost a good driver. And I never really complained or caused any trouble. If you like low miles and crappy pay, and being lied to all the time by office personal, then this is the company for you. Good Luck.
