Well as luck continues to suck for me, I went to lower the passenger window (all manual in this truck) and it started going down slanted/crooked. I was like WTF :biggrin_2556:...

If I continue to try to lower it all the way, it stops 2/3 of the way since it kinda 'wedges'.
Now, if I am lowering it, but hold it in the center as it goes down, it will go down all the way w/o any issues.
It seems it wants to go crooked on the way down, if let on it's own.

Going up, it will straighten on it's own at least..

    Thoughts?

What do I do here, before I find myself with a window that wont go up or down anymore...cause we ALL know thats whats looming for me.

well sounds like you need to take the door panel off and watch how it moves when you roll it down. you may need to go buy a new crank assembly for it or the tracks may be out of alignment. but you wont know till you get it apart and see whats happening.

One of my W900s had the cradle (?) at the bottom of the glass rust away on one side, the other side was ok; so when you would crank the window down, the good side would do as it should, the rusted side would hang up due to the drag of the gaskets in door. It did eventually pull the good side out of the cradle, and wouldn't follow the crank down. Easy/cheap fix, IIRC .
(If that is the problem, be sure to get the rubber tape that cushions/holds it in the cradle; also examine the related gaskets, and replace all rubber if worn,...... cheap, and you won't regret it.

Big help if you put a LITTLE grease on the moving parts, but if you get too carried away, you may be having a blurry view out that window for a while. (Don't ask how I know that!)

Well if I had working AC (next on my list) windows wouldnt be so important!

I have had this door apart, to fix the locking system..so I am familiar with it.
But while there is an outer vinyl/cloth trim, then there is this metal barrier. I cannot remove it completely since it appears to be bolted in the center and it looks like the window crank is part of this. That doesnt make sense, but I am afraid to remove all of the screws holding in the metal barrier! - if I can get that out of the way..then I am sure anything is trivial to work on.... any tips?

Been a couple of years since I had one apart, but IIRC that piece you are referring to has to come off the door. Wish I could remember for sure. I remember blocking the window in up position...... Darnit, this was in 2002, and I'm 56 yo. so you know the rest of the story. If you work like me, quick as you can, put your hand between gear part of window crank, and metal brace, so when that last screw comes out, you'll have the "crushed hand" part taken care of.

My concern is taking that last screw out and hearing a "BOOOOIINGG" as a spring goes SPRONG, unravels and unwinds as the glass goes crashing into the door cavity......

See, thats the luck I have-

no no no...that wont happen. ive had mine apart and that wont happen. another problem you could have is... at the bottom of the center track where the lift mechanism is it could be broken away from the door frame. thats what happened with mine as to why i had to replace it. just go ahead and remove the last screw and youll be just fine...

I presume you mean the 2 large silver torx screws around the cranker handle?

Well I got the door apart. Looks like the triangle thing at the bottom is the issue. It appears it has come apart from the vertical shaft:

    The top part looks good:

Slap it back on there and hit it with a MIG gun. And probably the top one too.
