    Walmart, KMart, BigLots, Ross....who knows.

See, a trucking company can meet or exceed the regulations in the FMCSR Handbook, but they cannot undermind it.

Palmer's idea of excession is...well, overexcessive. It still saddens me to think about the attitude behind the behaviors.

WOW!!! Has JPT gone to the dogs? Drove for them about ten yrs ago until a divorce and custody case got in the way. The 2 yrs or so I drove for them were profitable for me as a company driver. Had a great dispatcher(Mark Ketchum)...got me MILES MILES MILES!! At the time I thought of them as a company who actually followed through on their promises. Dave Zohner the safety guy was cool. At the time they had terminals in Missoula, Salina, Tampa and were kicking around Denver. Now I hear they only have Missoula and Denver....went through a bankruptcy...and were sold at the end of the yr to a couple of guys out near Chicago... Too bad. Jim was a mellow kind of guy and the trucks ran @68mph...KW/F-shakers and Pete's with just a sprinkling of Volvo's. I STILL wish them the best!

From what I can see, the $0.95/mile is part of their O/O pay package, not the company driver package.

I worked for them several years ago. I will admit I made decent money and had great miles but that isn't the issue here. I was working for them at the time I was getting my divorce. I was home on my days off and called in for an extra couple of days to deal with the issues needed for that. (the divorce stuff) Dispatch said it was fine and dandy....no problem. OK, good enough I thought. I left for an appointment with my attorney (this was the following day) and when I got back the truck was gone from my driveway. I called JPT immediately. Hmmmm...seems like the owner was not happy that dispatch told me I could have a couple of extra days off to deal with what I needed and had a couple of drivers sent out immediately to grab my truck. I then had to get in my pickup and drive to Salina, Ks. from near St. Louis to their yard to clean my truck out. I had a toolbox with about $500 worth of tools and a leather jacket that mysteriously disappeared. At any rate....I would never work for them again because of the CHICKEN S@#$ way that they dealt with this.
