ozark not so good

If you were going 68 mph then you was speeding anyways Ozark trucks were cut down to 65 mph. But as we all know they just never seem to make sure everyone is running equal.
I did ask them one time why they still have some company trucks running over the company policy speed limit of 65, they just said well just havent been abl to get all trucks into shops to be cut back.
So i ask again you mean after a year and a half knowing that every truck comes through as sometime or another for service you havent been able to get them all set the same.
Answer from Ozark was we just cant catch every truck . My answer BS.
So just like every company Ozark does have and play to there fav drivers. or little pets as i call them.

 

Just so every one will know I've been with them for awhile now and said some not so favable things about Ozark. \
So you have to look at the over all pic with like any other company.
They just no better or no worse than any other trucking company thats running to date.
You can find no one reason thats better to work for Ozark than you cant find with anyother company which in some ways is bad i think.
Every drive has to find the balance they want with any company they work for.

Note: Now with the new CSA 2010 rules you have to be really careful with what a company ask you to do. Evey ticket be it over weight, length, fix-it ticket, or what ever also now goes on your national safty record. Which any company can look at. So if you have a high unsafe record while trying to go to a new company they take a big look at safty record.
So think long and hard if a company tells you to run a overweight load or anything cause it does go on your personnel record. Even if the company says they will pay for the ticket they cant keep it off your driving record, which another comany you may think about working for will look at befor hireing.
AND I DO KNOW FOR A FACT THAT OZARK WILL ASK YOU TO RUN A OVERWEIGHT LOAD IF ITS FOR ONE OF THER MAJOIR ACCOUNTS. THEY WILL PAY THE FINE . BUT HAVE TO PROTECT YOUR ON ### NOW DAYS MY FRIEND. JUST SAY NO.

 

Big Riggers was more or less right in your first post about the brown noise. I,ve seen to much of it around the yard in Memphis. With this company its not so much what you do but who you know and how willing your are to run over what ever your log book says.
I get my load run them keep my mouth shut sometimes get good ones sometimes not. But like some here i am not going to kiss anyone behind just to make a buck.

I would say they no different than any other company out there to date.
Use the driver for all they can when they can. Depending on what they feel they can make the driver do legal or illegal run eka fed-x.
If you refuse or disagree to much being more than once or twice they will find away to get ride of you with out making themselfs look bad. And have been know to put things on DAC reports that are not ture. pretty much the same as other companys do aka JB Hunt and others

 

I drive for Ozark. I can't complain much. I've only driven for 2 companies and this one has treated me a lot better than the first. Good miles, high starting cpm for inexperienced drivers, and hometime is decent. 8-10 days out. However, they do like to run you as illegal as you will let them. A lot of their loads cannot be run legally. Either you can't get the load there on time without fixing your logbook or you don't get a full 10 hour break. The DOT is making them change over to electronic logs but I don't know the exact time frame.

 

Why do truckers always go for the stinking bad scamming company health and dental benefits? I have independant health and dental/vision insurance threw blue cross / shield, not employer provided it is a little more expensive 180 / month for just me (smoker), but i dont have to worry about getting screwed by a company, or loosing my benefits when i switch carriers. I advise ALL TRUCKERS Company and o/o to get independant health care. And life insurance... DONT DO 401K's they are a scam, instead go to APMEX (google it) cant put link here... per rules, and order gold/silver bullion that is physically shipped to you then find a good pawn shop in my case i found one in my hometown that pays 98% of market, then when you are ready to cash in on your OWN IRA/401k gold investments you can make sure you dont get ripped off. .

ON 401k's if the investment house where your money is held collapses you loose everything! If the company goes under you may loose everything, if the economy crashes you loose everything in that 401 k. But if you have invested in PHYSICAL gold and silver that is sent to you (not the paper gold investments that investment houses offer they are a scam) Then you dont loose anything. IN fact you may earn money.

That is my advice.

Should have said I love driving for them most of the time. As we all know, no company is perfect but I don't think Ozark is the worst company out there.

Yes, they do run loose leaf logs but elogs are supposed to be here by 2012. As far as APU's go - it's luck of the draw. You might get one - you might not. If you don't you can idle but they will harp at you but keep idling anyways. You can't burn up or freeze to death. My first truck had no APU but my second one does.
