Hi folks - Just joined your group to get some answers.
I've been driving here in New England for 42 years; milk tankers, steel (14 years), dry vans (only 4 years) and now gasoline tankers (last 18 years). I'm now in charge of a small fleet, but still drive every week.
As such, I'm responsible for keeping our trucks moving, and these new engines are causing us problems, so I found this place and am really interested in what all of you drivers and O/O's have to say. I'm here to learn!!
Just to put things in perspective, when I first started hauling milk, we had gas engine Internationals, max speed 58, and I recall one driver having to buy a block of ice to put on his carburetor before climbing a hill (vapor lock).
My how things have changed.
