I will be leaving on June 6, for Burn Haven, Indiana. I will then start my refresher course training. I am fortunate enough to have had all my training paid for, my original eight week course at a technical college where I got my CDL., and for the refresher course at CRE. I know that will take away a lot of stress so I can concentrate on driving. I will also be bringing about three hundred dollars for food, I hope that will be enough. If anyone has any advice please feel free to share, but please no negative comments, I would just like to take advantage of this opportunity, especially after being unemployed for over a year.
Heading for Indiana

Well, it's been two days now since you posted this post,
and no positive replies, ........................ yet.
How helpful is that message?
Sometimes we say more when we say nothin' at all.
The silence is deafening.
I did offer some advice to you in the
A Question about C.R. England thread though.
You might wanna read it.
Or not.
Let me just add, keep your eyes, ears and mind open and be honest with yourself and sharpen your instincts. If you can't trust yourself, who can you trust?
Here, we're just hieroglyphics on a contrasting background in the form of thoughts expressed through a written language. Strangers, attempting to illuminate the truth for some who will not see, for whatever reason, --- headin' for a heartache.
Can't afford not to be working?
A better question might be can you afford to take a chance with C.R. England? It is possible to wind up worse than you started out.
Do you have a Plan B? (If you survive Plan A)
The clock is tickin'.
Tic-Toc -- Tic-Toc -- Tic-Toc ...........................
What time is the wake-up alarm set to go off?

I think my plan B is to continue being a gypsy hahaha

Went to refresher course.
I went to the burns harbor refresher course. But check this out, I was one of the people who had the top average score in my class so I was moved into the flex program. It was an opportunity to get some driving experience before I graduated. I then graduated and was waiting in the motel for an instuctor for my phase 1. I then got a call from the recruiter who said that CRE couldn't hire me right now because my regular drivers license had expired in 2008 and I didn't renew it until 2009. I checked out the F.M.C.S.R. handbook and it clearly states that a company must check out the driving record for the last three years ending on the date of application for employment. What it says is no suspensions, revocations, or cancelled for cause. NO WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT IT IS ILLEGAL NOT TO HAVE A DRIVERS LICENSE FOR A YEAR. The way I see it the recruiter dropped the ball and I should not have to pay for the refresher course.
AfterShock Thanks this. -
WhY?
Haven't you heard about CRE's bad reputation?
Haven't you read any of the many horror stories posted by folks who were kicked to the curb by CRE?
OH!
Wait.
Now I remember.
You mentioned that you didn't want any "negative comments" in the first post in this thread.
Did you notice you didn't receive positive comments from anybody?
Didn't that send up a red flare?
Let me guess, ........... things at CRE will be different for you. All that negative stuff only happens to others, and when it happens to them, it's because they had poor work ethics, or whatever reason/excuse CRE decides to use.
Those CRE rejects just come here to whine about their inability to handle the program.
I bet you've wondered, -----
If CRE is really as bad as some of us claim, how do they stay in business? How does CRE describe the "flex program"?
What are the benefits of that program? As you gazed around that motel room, what were your thoughts?
What was your first impression of the lodging facility?
Top notch?
So-So?
Sub-standard?
Would you recommend that motel to a friend?Well, ........... imagine that.
CRE hasn't changed a bit.
They're still a sleeze-ball outfit that'll use, or invent, any excuse for a reason to not hire someone who has been led to believe a job awaits them after training. If CRE says it's illegal, it may as well be illegal.
Besides, it's probably against one of CRE's rules to even look things like that up without their permission. How dare you question them?At C.R. England, it doesn't matter how or what you "see" ---- they saw you coming, took advantage of you, watched you fade into the sunset, chuckled, went about business as usual, then went home and slept well, knowing there are more just like you to be had the next day, and the next day after that, and the next day after that, too.
There is nothing unique about what CRE did to you. They've done that to hundreds, if not thousands, before you. Some of those done wrong by CRE have come here and related the whole story for those who are willing to read it. Most of those shedding light on a dark company warn wannaBees and newBees about the shady practices of C.R. England and highly recommend staying far away from that outfit.
But, for whatever reason, their warnings go in one ear and out the other, thinkin' it'll be different for them. Well guess what? Now your voice cries along with all the others who report the truth about CRE. And there will still be those who will have to experience the CRE adventure before they realize that they're just pawns at CRE, like everybody else.
Now, let the blame game begin.
Blame CRE,
Blame the courts for not stopping their practice of destroying folk's futures.
Blame the Drivers Needed --- Will Train advertisements that appear in various publications.
But the bottom line is it's only you to blame. You were warned and ignored the warnings, and what you were told would happen, ---- happened.
Good luck tryin' to get CRE to "see" things your way concerning what you owe them for. They've heard it all before, and still demanded payment for their services rendered. This is how they make money. They're experts at deception. Somewhere, in the pile of paperwork you've signed on the dotted line, you can probably find that you've agreed to pay CRE what they demand, no matter what. Did you read everything you signed BEFORE signing? Or did you trust the fox in the hen house to be honorable?
OH!
BTW, ........
C.R. England is famous for dingin' your DAC with false claims, which for a newBee just gettin' into the industry, is like a death sentence. Other truckin' companies that use DAC reports as a guideline will see a ding on a DAC, and put that application in the circular file. Your new career is over before it even got started.
If, as some others have claimed, CRE was your ONLY choice because they were the ONLY company that would hire you, I point out, it was NOT your ONLY choice. You could have chosen to go nowhere. You picked what is, at best, the worst time to attempt to get into the Big truck truckin' industry, and, to make matters worse, you picked the company offering the least chance of succeeding. There is a glut of applications on the desks of all the truckin' companies. It's like spearing fish in a barrel for recruiters.
All of that is water under the bridge now. At this point you need to calm down and decide what you're gonna do now. If you decide to lock horns with CRE's legal department, bring a lunch. It could take awhile to resolve your dispute, which more often than not, turns out in favor of CRE. They've been doin' what they do for a long time. They're experts at it. They have it all figured out from all the practice they've gotten squeezin' every dime out of the pockets of royally reamed, starry eyed newBees and wannaBees.
We here at TTR derive no pleasure or satisfaction from reading posts like yours, WI Newbie. Even after reading so many posts, it doesn't make it any easier. Actually, quite the opposite. It angers me to no end that CRE can do what they flagrantly do to so many good people who are just trying to make an honest living. It's nothing short of a shame.
Is there any wonder why CRE finds it necessary to have armed guards and metal detectors at their offices? Other truckin' companies have open door policies. Who is CRE hiding from that requires protection? And why?
I think you know the answers now.
If anyone readin' this is considering C.R. England for a possible employer, I urge y'all to reconsider. CRE is NOT a company y'all can trust. I have yet to read a success story from any CRE drivers. Not one.
Is it possible that there aren't any?
Is it possible that y'all could be the first?
Sure. I reckon that's a possibility.
But I think the odds of winning a PowerBall jackpot are waayyy better.

Sounds very stupid if your current license says you have a class A cdl. I would look into why the law says it is ok but cre doesn't, even on a refresher course?!
-
To aftershock, I have to admit you tell it how it is. I just had to learn on my own. I just filled out an application for Schneider and US. Epress. A schneider recruiter talked to me on the phone and he said that what cr england did was one of the stupidest things he ever heard of. They couldn't get me on my criminal history, my driving record, or my work history. And it took them over a month to come up with that excuse. I even talked to one of my instuctors at Chippewa Valley Tech. who also happens to be an expert witness in truck accidents, and he says the cr england recruiter misinterped the rules wrong. But what can I do but learn. Again thanks Aftershock for the reply.
-
W.I, What about Millis? They're right there in your backyard.
-
Make sure you dispute it when CRE puts on your DAC that you were fired!
AfterShock Thanks this. -
And also dispute when they put on your dac that you owe them money for school.
AfterShock Thanks this.
