looks like someone got on the wrong post! This is the one for people who have have something positive to express.

I run Hard and Long, most of my loads are 1800 miles ave. I have been driving for SRT since September 2006. I like SRT! My checks at SRT average 900.00 per week because they like the work I do for them.

Out there in LA LA land the masses complain. in Reality when the going gets tough the tough get going.

I hear the big baby's all day whine on the CB, I must say it always the same thing. They think life is suppose to be easy and everybody must cater to them. Well guess what. No one is going to get what they want in trucking but somehow you might get what you need.

One man, One Voice.....in a crowded room.

Trucker Report is a place where your opinion is valued and CMV drivers who want to to make comments regarding his/her experience may help others decide whether on not to seek employment with a Carrier. There is a place on Trucker Report to report Bad Companies, This one is not!

This thread is not for recruiting drivers for SRT corporation(they do that not me). SRT Drivers Network was created by POPMARTIAN who is a driver. The intention is to have a place where friends can meet and post positive life experiences.

During my career at several major Fleet carriers (Martin, Knight,JBHUNT,KLLM) they all required drivers to provide 10 years of accurate employment history. Some have some tough rules to follow. All the Companies are regulated by the FMCSA and DOT and most of the rules and regulations are clearly stated in supporting documents.

Federal Regulations require all Commercial Carriers that hire CDL Drivers to Drive a CMV require the employee to be open and honest about their driving record and employment history for the past 10 years. If a company finds during their investigation you have omitted any information or try to hide any information including DUI and Felonies you can be terminated imediately. That information can be place on your termination papers and DAC. The burden of proof then becomes the Driver's responsibility. If a driver wishes to Challenge a company in a court of Law, then they must be prepared with Dates, Times, Places, and Witnesses to substaniate any claims. Filing a Claim against a former employer will be very difficult if you do not have Accurate information to dispute the companies reason for your Termination.

Another Way a company can Terminate a Driver is to show the employee was disregarding company policies and procedures. All Company Violations are Clearly Represented in the Employee Handbook. When a Driver fails to follow the rules outlined in the Policy Manual the employee may be required to sign a consultation form acknowledging his violation. Some Violations like DUI can result in Imediate Termination. If the Employee continues to disregard company orders and directives then it is considered Misconduct (which is very hard to challenge for a driver) andcan or will be Terminated if He/She continues to disobey Fleet Managers or Dispatchers.

How can a Driver prevent negative information on his DAC. Cover your Actions and Document all Dates, Times, Places and Witnesses and take your complaints to the proper channels, ie Safety Department and or Operations. If you cannot provide Documentation then it is Your word against Their word and your case will be dismissed because they will certainly have Documention signed by you that states you agree to the Rules and Regulations upon your being hired. No company can Force a Driver to Break the law, Althought some will turn a Blind Eye and let the Driver run over his or her 11 or 14 HOS. No Company will authorize a driver to falsify his Daily Log or Inspection Report. That Violation can result in Heafty Fines and Possible Criminal Charges if the Driver is Found guilty of Falsifying Documents and who is envolved in a Collision Resulting in one or more vehicles being towed and or causing Bodily Injury. The lawyers on the behalf of the plaintiffs will have a field day by collecting electronic data from Cell Phones, Qual Comms, Credit Card Transtions, Tolls, Scales and use this information to destroy your Testimony in a Court of Law. Only You can prevent this from happening by Keeping it legal!

Most Large Companies are starting to delay hiring until after Orientation. An applicant is not considered Hired and or Compensated as an employee until the all the DOT approved Paperwork including Medical DOT physical, Drug test, Criminal Background Checks, Credit Reports and Employment History has been verified by the Staff and signed off by Safety and Human Resources Department. If you leave the company for any reason before 90 to 120 days they can charge back the cost of all the above mentioned including Drug and DOT physicals, Hotel and Transportation to Orientation. and any fees to recover an abandoned CMV.

So before you Jump in with both feet you should make sure your back ground is squeeky clean. Never lie or withhold any infomation on an application.

Millions of Drivers have found Driving a good place to have a Career and Thousands have been cut loose due to accidents, tickets , arrest and drug violiations. This is the most regulated industry in the USA. If you don't want everything in your life exposed 24/7 365 days a year on a Daily Drivers Log then you should consider a different Career.

I was sitting in a cafe having coffee and two people walked by and one made a comment. " looks like those nasty trucker's were here again." Someting like that reminds me of the cliche' " One bad apple doesn't spoil the barrel ". But in general people are able to leave behind impressions simply by how they act. The character faults of "professionals drivers" leave one to imagine what happen to these poor souls, when they will act like selfish egomaniacts. Do they lack of education, morals, and integrity? Some bad ones can leave behind the lasting impressions that all "Truckers" are scum. On the other hand there are " Truckers" willing to help people and not ask for anything in return. Just a moment of kindness toward a woman and child lost at some truckstop. Or another driver just trying to back his rig into a tight slot on a packed lot late at night. I have seen guys jump at an oppurtunity to help another driver, while others laugh on the radio while a newbee struggles not to hit another rig.

Sometimes the old saying "Karma, what goes around comes around can be true."

    Have a safe trip!

Some people aren't happy unless they are complaining. I am sure SRT is not the only Company that has disgruntled employees. If I was hired on to drive a Truck by some company(any name will do), and I entered into a contract that read clearly all of the responsibilities of my position but failed to fulfill my obligations that company would probably fire me. The easy way to explain it would be to blame the Company. Considering that there are laws that companies must abide , ie, EEOC (to protect workers), I would assume that the company would have made it clear up front that some things like refusing to follow instructions and getting shutdown by the DOT are serious violations which could result in termination. Sometimes a Company has to "cut loose" a Driver to protect itself from being put in jeapordy. If a Driver has been abusing alcohol and or drugs and operates a CMV then that driver is breaking the law and violating company policies and SOP. If a Driver is involved in a accident with fatalities then that Driver and the Company would both share the burden. I doubt very much that any driver found guilty of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol would have any defense in a court of law. Now with that being said a Driver working for a Company is a Liability. The actions of a Driver can directly affect the safety rating of a company. If a Driver has too many issues then the company will terminate the driver for the violations. It is unlikely the company would randomly decide to call up a good driver and tell him he is fired with out just cause (unless they are having Layoffs). It is unlikely considering the time and effort and resources both the Company and the Driver must expend for the pre-employment stage and orientation. Occasionally a Driver with issues slips through the pre-employment screening and gets into truck. Then it is discovered that the Driver is violating and or abusing the policies set forth by the company. It would be bad business practice to allow a incompetent or out right unabiding law breaking driver to remain behind the wheel of a CMV.

Just because I like SRT and try to keep things on the positive is no reason come into this site and drop a load of crap! I see many drivers jumping off trucks from all the Brands out there and I always said that the bigger the company the more BS a driver will have to put up with. But some of you young guys know everything already and I don't need to explain it! If you would like to read the real whiners stories go to
    SWIFT
    JBHUNT
    SCHNIEDER
    STEVENS
    MARTIN
    KNIGHT
    ENGLAND

The stories are all the same by the same people #####in they did not get paid blah blah blah!!!!!

But once again I looked for a few intellegent people on this site who know how to have a good time. I still haven't found what I'm looking for.

SRT drivers network just became another complaint department, for some ex employee with nothing to be proud of in his miserable life.
