Actually, Nevada opens its check stations every year at this time due to the 4th of July and runs a few weeks before and usally a few weeks after. They also open the check stations around Christmas and have even left them open 24/7 until Febuary. You have to remeber, here in Vegas we our a popular city. And they are VERY strict with security and any threats of attacks. I ran a fleet of trucks from LA to Cedar City, UT 5 days a week with our terminal based in Vegas. So we would get hit hard on these days. Even through the check points got to know our trucks we still received inspections.

Anyone know how the getting home time with Crete in Las Vegas, NV is? What is the closest Terminal? Phoenix? I'm looking to get back over the road and the job I had with being on the other end of the stick (I was a transportation manager) Sucked and did not get paid for everything I did. (24/7 On call, in charge of breakdowns, Payroll all the fun stuff) And I still drove a truck when a driver would call off. So just looking to get back into the seat where I don't have to worrie about any other issues but my own.
What is Regional compared to National as far as milage goes? I seen on their website that solos can't even do regional.
Any Info would help. I'm looking to maybe get back into a truck come october (Yeah, Start of winter) If my business don't start to pick up.
Thanks!

Thanks Russell. Anyone with Crete live in Vegas? Still have some time to decide. Once the time gets closer and if I decide to go back out on the road I will call Crete. Just wanted to get some Info.

Talked to Crete last week, western region, only hiring in LA California, Salt Lake City utah. Home time for new hires in western region is out 45 days minimum. from the Wyoming terminal manager.

while I is was with Crete, the farthest west i got was McCook, NE. I had a load from Cedar Rapids,IA to SLC, but had to tcall it in Lincoln due to a badly needed 34. I wanted to go out west, even begged dispatch for it. They then promptly sent me to New Hampshire! Oh well, I am now in at home everyday with a local job (got very lucky) but would go back to Crete if necessary.

every thing about crete sounds good except there hometime policy.

I don't have any problem with hometime, but i live in West Des Moines,Iowa. There's a lot of freight through there, although not as much actually in Iowa. I have almost always got home the day I asked or the day before. I have been a day late only 2 times. I live in a good area though, my freind lives in Washington state and has a hard time getting there every time. Not really sure about the Vegas area, though I wouldn't think it would be too bad.
