By the way they don't nrrd a excuse to look at your book. You can be pulled over just for them to check your log or any thing alse they would like to check. I have never been caused any grief over logbook's just keep it current and easy to read.

I Elog and I don't worry! I also know that if they are using the Seatbelt as an excuse and Threat, they are breaking the Law. Yes they can set up spot checks etc. but they need to inform you that is what they are doing. They need to Report that is what they are doing... Now don't come back and tell me you you know you are right. I have Many family members and friends who are in the police dept.s They also have to follow guidelines and do a LOT of paper work for why they are doing what they are doing. It is the Police themselves who have told me that the Lansing area is corrupt. and I tend to believe them over Drivers, I, being a driver know what to expect from them.

:biggrin_25511:If what i'm reading is true, than maybe the Lansing
Mi. area should be boycotted. When they ask why, tell them with proof what the troopers are doing.:biggrin_25511:

I was thinking that too. No dispatcher would ever even try to guess what the driver's logbook looked like by qualcomm info.....

    i mean, come on....

Why would I argue over a Police Department I would have no idea about. If they are corrupt I knew this I would not go there. I just would never have time to load them.

I can only speak for here in CA, NV, AZ, UT the other states I do not frequent often enough to have any idea. I prefer it here where they don't have to use a ruse to pull you over, if they want to see my book I would rather get pulled over for that than to have to pay the fine on a CS reason for pulling me over.

    Lots of luck.

I do avoid that area now. I'll take 131 down or 75. but I do avoid the Lansing area if I can.

This is not the first. This month marks 3 years ago that I got pulled over coming out of the Hoosier on 94 heading back to Lansing. I was running the meijer dedicated with J.B.Hunt. I got popped by a full grown that was sitting in the chicken house there in New Buffalo. He said he clocked me doing 68 in a 60. I told the nice officer that on that particular account, the trucks were governed at 60. Well, he begged to differ and told me J.B. don't have trucks governed that slow because he clocks them all day long running between 65 to 70 which of course made me laugh. I wasn't all that worried about getting the ticket cause I had that Drivers Legal Plan through the company and I had all of the logs pulled from the truck. Long story short, I had only been in the truck 2 days and the data went back 3 years when the truck actually did 65 and so that wonderful Drivers Legal Plan did nothing for me other than getting the ticket knocked down to a 61 in a 60. Guess what, the fine was the same ($105) except after paying the lawyer fee and court fee Etc. it ended up costing me close to $350. I found out quick that weather or not you live in Michigan, It is a loosing battle.

FYI, Lansing is nowhere near as bad as Jackson,MI. Drivers are not welcome in Jackson and they will tell you upfront. Jackson has state, city, and county all competing with each other and it makes it pure hell.
