I have a friend that has one and he hates it. Says it has no power to pull hills!

Mercedes was designed for something other than American Roads, Detroit and Cat are Both Good Motors, Cat is real good for heavy haul, I am personally a Detroit Fan. This is just my humble opinion.

The Mercedes motor has a canister style oil and fuel filter. Very messy to change and a poor design.

You would be much better off to spend alittle more money on a truck with a Cat,Cummins,or Detroit.

Benz engine is great if you only haul an empty skateboard around. If you ever plan on hauling with more then 20k in the box. plan your route for going down hills only because you will never make it up a hill let alone a mountain with that weak sorry excuse for an engine.

45,000 in the box going to Knoxville on 75. I went up the hill at an unbelievable speed. Thankfully the wind did not blow.

    The speed....... 20 mph.

Mercedes engine has the worst turbo Lag. On the flat the truck is bad, up shifting to top gear. I was thinking I,m screwed when I hit a hill, but it surprised me, and could pull a hill a little bit. I pulled a reefer trailer, 44,500. It was a 06 4000 engine, they have a dump valve on the waste gate, for a jake brake, junk. The cylinders are know to score bad, at around 250,000, rebuild time.
