Ive have a solo clutch now with 150,000 on it with no problems but have seen lots of problems with them. The problem is it is designed for fleet trucks with steering wheel holders that wouldn't know an out of adjustment till a truck stoped moving. We had a mack CL with one and a driver that really new how to drive a truck. At about 150,000 ( cant remember for sure its been a while ) the clutch started to slip and no way to adjust. The auto adjust was set up due to lack of movement. Wait a minute this driver is old school and a good driver that dont abuse the truck even at the 107,000LBS we are permited for. Well come to find out that is the problem! These clutches adjust when you slip the clutch! If you always start out in the highes gear you can and slip it, it will adjust. A driver that actually starts out in the low hole when things are heavy or on an uphill grade will never adjust the cluch!!!!!! So if your a good driver that actually knows how not to abuse a truck the solo clutch aint for you.
At 107,000LBS I like to start out in low hole high split (18 speed) but to keep things adjusted I use 1st low split. Not a real big differance but higher than I like. So all I can tell you is try starting out in a higher gear.
This info came from and Eaton rep that we were trying to get to warrinty the clutch.

push the pedal a couple of times, make sure you go throught the full range of travel onthe pedal. then go drive the truck for a quick road test, afterwards recheck it, may have to do it a couple of times, if the freeplay is set right between the throw out bearing and the clutch brake- should be a 1/2 inch, then you may need to adjust your clutch linkage to get the right free travel in your clutch pedal, moving the wear tab on the clutch has no effect on the clutch.
