Maaan...nice list 'o crap to fix there. Some of that could be pretty spendy and if you're going to do one, might as well do it all at once.

The kingpins would run right around $1000 plus alignment...both worth their weight in gold as BlackKW said...100,000+ miles per set vs. 40,000 miles on steer tires at $600+ per set.

Brakes, do one axle, might as well do 'em all.

Windshields...wait till you have to drive into the sun with those sandblasted things...it sucks.

In my opinion I wouldn't worry about kingpins, but if you are concerned take it to a good alignment/frontend shop and have them check it and if its ok by them, have a good 3 axle alignment done. Warranty will only replace kingpins # .026 or more play, if I remember correctly from my dealership days, so I would not be concerned. Fix the brakes, exhaust, windshields, ck the driveline, and go from there.

I do truck alignments at work. You should be able to get the kingpin set for about $250~325 if you shop around. Figure about 8 hours labor to install. I would not get excited about them yet though to be honest. Because you haven't touched that driveline yet. And that could add up to some serious cash quick if the yoke is worn out.

Front diff play, if the seal ain't leaking run the truck. So put some clamps on (do that yourself easy enough) and adjust the 5th wheel. Side question- just how much play does it have? It has to have some or bad things will happen. Take a picture or 2 of the 5th wheel and post it and someone here can tell you how to adjust it. That will take you an hour but you will need a trailer or kingpin tool to check the adjustment.

Brakes will run you about $75 per wheel in parts. More if the truck has inboard drums (almost never seen anymore). If you have a way to change the tires and wheels you can do a brake job.

5th wheel rebuilt # KW Cedar Rapids, IA ~$600. The adjusting nut/pin in the front would work forward after a few short loads. Was told the forks that hold the jaws together were spreading apart. Cheap insurance to keep from loosing a trailer I figured. That price was after I steam cleaned it before it went in, about 3 yrs. ago

You might be able to adj 5th wheel, or if you find a good local shop they can give you a2nd opinion and/or adj for you. But you can get a top plate for around $500, and put it on your self if you know somebody with a forklift, and a torch. It's your truck right, tell them no I decline all work, pay your bill and leave. If your not comfortable with them thats all you have to do, I would find a good independant shop to take my business to. just my .02
