Well id be happy to talk to you send me a pm or a email
I dont come here as much but i check my emails daily or if i get a pm and it tells me thru my email ill check
And to Old Guy no disrepect but I am not and was not in DESPERRATION

A lease is a lease I do not care who you are with you got to learn the system and work the system
I would bet ANY of you here I could go back tommorow and make 700-1000 aweek and no not everyweek this is trucking you got to
Avg it at the end of the month you do not look at it weekly ,Ask my wife i love to bet and dont like to loose >:O
The guys that fail whether they admit it or not I do not care do not figure out the system or to new to know how to and they fail
IF you take bs loads and loads that go into slow or no freight zones your not going to make it.I mean if they offer you a load to maine and they have no backhaul there Or 20 trucks there guess what? DO not go.
If They send you a load and its a meat load do not take it until you find the drop dead time and the dev time if its 500 miles and drop dead time is monday morning and its friday well you will be there until monday 90% of them do not rush they will push it until the dropdead time. You will sit at meatplants there is noway around it but find out what you can before hand so you know whats coming and there is a few I would never go to they are just way to slow
Also Before you take anyload ask if they have any preplans in that area I mean at times I would go to the NE but unlike those other 20 trucks I would
Have a load on me before I got empty so When I was reloading and heading back they where still sitting at the truckstop cussing wondering wtf
You dispatcher is your best friend keep him or her happy and mold them After a few months they will no if they offer you crap you will just refuse
Sounds stupid but sometimes it is better to sit that extra day then to take a load that is good miles but 2 days to long
Once your there a few months try to learn what days the better paying loads from you area normally load and rem this when planning home time
That is the worst part of transam in my eyes you go home you go in the hole well you can cut ALOT of that out with planning
I mean Why is there guys i know including myself that can make it work I have a wife and 4 kids and 6 grandkids we didnt go hungry or anything there
Only rules for working at transam are ANY lease outfit is
    1.Do not take anything offer
    2.LEARN THE SYSTEM
    3. Do not think because your a lease op you can go home every weekend
I mean I stayed out sometimes 4-6 weeks but That doesnt bother me as I have been doing this awhile. but then I Would take aweek off
    4. learn to manage your fuel it is your biggest cost if you cant keep this in check you will not make it with a lease or if your just buying a truck
You will make 200-300 more per week at 60-65 then 70-75
And when its thursday...... I think thats the lastday of turn in lmao been a bit since I was there and you know this is your last load for this weeks paycheck dont go and spend 500 in fuel run it empty until you get your next load for the following week.
Again lease is not for everyone but those who can firgure out the system will make it just talked to my bud yesterday and still doing good and no its not bs I am not getting referals are anything I am still hauling cars but this is getting old when its 100 degrees outside ........ lmao maybe i am getting old
Anyway Good luck to everyone but do not let this forum make your mind up this is just a small fraction of people and if you read the threads they have gripes about every company from a-z
Which there is a few I just think flat out suck but ill keep that to myself
PS try to deal very little with weekend they really do suck lol If you have good preplans and you know you got plenty of time DO NOT TAKE YOUR TIME so ahole
Weekend guy will pull it off to give to his normal drivers
I have sat til monday a few times instead of dealing with the weekend crew unless you get to know a few of them there was 1-2 in rockwall i knew if they where working it wasnt to bad otherwise ....... run

Boy Old guy, you sure do like to harp on about them "homeless felons". Wonder why that is?
Can only speak for myself but I didn't have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for a company trk. Just had to turn my last one in and was pleasantly surprised, they actually had one there and waiting for me.
Do I like TA? Well I have to admit that they have a lot of BS going on there but the more that I'm out here, the more I learn about just how normal that is for these big mega fleets or wanna be's like TA. Will I stick with them? Hope not, would like to find a smaller company that actually knows and respects their drvrs and TA sure ain't that.

Must have been a different era at Transam. I had better loads faster from weekend dispatch than from my regular driver manager. Of course my driver manager thought I went home too much.

lol nice well poor felons have to eat to >:O
What I ment by fuel Yes I know it goes by trip
But if you are taking your last trip for this thursday turn in and you are low on fuel do not fill up
Fill just enough to get that load off and then fuel on the next so the fuel is on the next trip which is on the next payday
I do not think I ever went to iowa And wont plan on going anytime soon even if I go back to Ta which I am debating I am getting to old to load cars I can fill it taking its tole
And your Dispatch must of had it in for you are the planner I never sit anywhere a week Most I have sit was 2.5 days at a meat plant never waiting on a dispatch.

Far as loads from the house I am not sure where you live but I Am from Ga they have a few good loads to Ne and Wy from here I try to time it so I could grab one of those
Which if I Went back Id have to learn it again as the Dispatch I had is no longer there Which she was very good at times Id have 3-4 preplans on me to bounce all over........................until the weekend crew got in lmao

Anyway good luck to anyone who tries it Are they the best? well I cant say that But I can forsure Say they are no where around the worse
And panhandle small outfits are nice but be forwarned to buy so ky if they are to small lmao I have a few guys that owe me thousands and some I made really good money with
Now days I do not care how big are small they are as long as I can run the way I like to and get home when I want.with this new bs coming out if it ever comes out I think alot of the small guys will be out and thats what the big man wants.

I sat over New Years. My driver manager had me dead-head to Dodge City (preplan disappeared) from Athens Georgia (1400 miles) which cost me approx. 29 cents per mile the day after Christmas where I sat for a couple of days waiting on a load (preplan disappeared), then I delivered the load (that had to be there by 10 pm on new years eve), sent my empty call and learned that my next preplan load was cancelled until after new years. He said I would get the next load out of the area. Truck stop book said there was a truck stop close by so I went there and found out it was closed. Found a parking place next door to a Burger King (or some other fast food place) and sat to wait for load. Next load was on Jan 5. Went to pick up and sat for another day before I was loaded for a trip to New York and Maine. Just in time for the first hellacious snowstorm of the winter. That started a whole 'nother round of sitting and waiting (preplan canceled).

The time I was driving for Transam was a time when loads were hard to find. Johnny Jacobsen told me it was the slowest time they had had since they started. Yet they were still hiring week after week, graduating class after class and letting them sit in the terminal unless they would lease a truck. At one point, when I was t-called for maintenance, there were 30 people sitting in the terminal waiting on a truck. That was in mid January and in Rockwall and in Olathe the classes were still scheduling 20 to 30 people per class at each location.

Guess I was just sensitive about the felon bit since I am one. Yes I am grateful to TA who was the 1st company that would accept me with my felony. Doesn't mean I like alot of the stuff they do.
And Thumper, when I say small, maybe I should have menat medium. TA is just to big and they really don't care about the drvr's, no matter the talk about respect. Course, all the mega fleets are like that. Thats also why they go thru so many drvrs.
Have talked to several L/O's lately and they are all making money. They also have experience behind them.
