SKUNKboy first off that post is two years old! Hold on let me check my records to make sure that is the company I drove for. Why yes it is! As a newbie driver who has no clue about running a trucking business sure did make a lucky guess that I didn't do something right. What I did wrong was go to work for JCT! Thank you for pointing that out. I had heard lots of good things too about JCT. Their fleasing program sounded decent and once again you are right I should not have fleased a truck from them! I should have hired you as my team driver and I would not have made that grave mistake! When we started there we were running 7000 a week! Dispatcher got knocked up and left. Our new dispatcher was training under Mr. Keith. He was also related to Mr. Keith! So, when he did bad we were at fault. He had a husband/wife team running 3500 miles a week. As an experienced owner operator does that sound feasible to you? Maybe you can tell me the break even point so I know how much money to expect off of 3500 miles a week. We did this for a month (because we are not quitters and enjoyed all the other people at JCT) However friendship and happiness at JCT wasn't paying the bills! Mr. Keith adamantly made the point that there was nothing wrong with his nephew. At the same time we had a very good job offer from a close friend running horses commercially. I know you weren't there to advise me what we should have done so I went ahead and made the executive decision of turning in my company flease and leaving. Somewhere along the line I must have done something right because I know have a 30acre eventing horse training and breeding facility that due to my lack of trucking experience is paid off! I now have time to argue with experienced people like yourselves (2 years worth of truckin experience!) because I have other experienced people working for me now! If you didn't live so far away I would invite you over to see where I went wrong! My apologies to the fine people at JCT. Fortunately it was only two of you that mucked up everything! JCT does however have the best service shop I have ever been to! (in my trucking experience)
