I know this might sound strange but like I've said in a previous post I'm old fashioned when it comes to changeing jobs never quit one until you have another one!! So would it be out of line for me to ask or is it even posibile to ask my reqruiter if after I do the orientation and get the job offer that I can have time to give a two weeks notice to my old job before going out with my trainer? or am I just wishful thinking? (this is with swift)

A real company would respect that in you and would one day hope you gave them the same respect.
-
Could be wishful thinking, but discuss your start date with them, or if your orientation is not set yet, perhaps start your orientation after your two week notice is up.
-
I'm not sue what Swift's policy is on this, but when US Xpress was recruiting me they said I had to have quit Swift before I came to their orientation...but no guarantee I was hired till after their orientation was over. I said no thanks. I think you need to ask your recruiter before you come to orientation.

thats my intention I would never give up my job without having another one. Whats funny I don't need the work just want to get back to driving I know I'm crazy lol... Its just in my blood been a part of my whole life.

I'm going to be giving my two week notice here shortly. Then, will put in a HTR for the zip code of my home terminal so turning the truck in properly will be easier.
Don't know if I'll get back into truckin' (Going back to school to re attack another career goal of mine), but I will not do anything to put a nasty smear on my DAC.
