They take people right out of CDL school. They also have their own cdl training program.

As long as you do not have recent tickets, or felonies and such you should be ok. They are very safety conscious. My husband was accepted. He had at the time of hire 7 years driving but they take people right out of school. They do have their own school. I knew someone who was prehired before completing C-1 Training. He however, was declined employment because he had a very poor work history and he failed to disclose a felony charge he got 8 years ago. Military is always a good thing. Call them. They are very up front and not a hard pressure sales job.

sounds like they are a good company. i am currently driving for a company where i am home 3 to 5 hrs a day but it is killing me. have been thinking of lease purchase programs.but i am leaning toward not doing that. i may just have to apply with rohel for there southern division. so i can be home weekends. i have 2 years recent and only 1 ticket in nov.2006 over ga. so i may get on.

As far as recent tickets, I've been driving since 1986 (cars that is..LOL) and I've never been in an accident nor have I ever received a moving violation.

As far as work history is concerned, my first full time job was the Navy and I do believe that my character of service will speak for its self. Now I know my military experience nor my job field is applicable as a truck driver but I do believe that I have a very solid work ethic and I'm not afraid of long hours nor am I afraid of hard work.

Roehl was my first choice but they wouldn't accept me because of my location in Idaho, so you might want to check where you need to be based. If it's a problem and you want it bad enough then you might want to consider a change in home base just before you retire. I'd like to move but can't afford to so I guess I'll put in my time at CRS and then after a year or so make a decision (based on my "happiness factor" of course ;?D).

I just got off the phone with the Roehl recruiter and everything went well with my application (they really check you out thoroughly) and I received a formal offer of employment to start orientation on March 14 in Gary, Ind to run Nationwide Van fleet. I graduated from school (Tenn Technology Center - Shelbyville) on Feb 23rd and I am looking forward to this. Roehl is very good so far. They are even reserving and paying for me a rental car to drive from Tennessee to Gary - said they did not want me to have to sit on a bus for 10 hrs. I was going to accept an offer from (Blue) Star in Nashville, but I cannot turn down Roehl as they are as good as you can get in this profession for a newbie like me. Wish me luck. I will try to update here as I get into orientation and let everyone know how it goes.
