1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I started driving in july of 06 for CR England. They fired me for not making a police report when i u-turned too sharp and bent my fin. I got a log violation ticket from fairfield CA that i never appeared in court for and am barely in the process of paying now. I then started with a local company called faulkner trucking. I was canned from there after testing positive for trace amounts of marijuana. I've aquired a speeding ticket from fresno CA while driving there that i also never appeared in court or payed, and a ticket in Mojave that did get paid off due to wage garnishment. My license was subsequently suspended in feb of 08 and due to my downward spiral in the job field and basically in life in general, it has remained suspended to this present day. I've recently picked up a new ticket for driving on a suspended license as well. Now, i've finally started getting it together. I'm paying off my fines $200 bucks at a time, have quit smoking pot, 1 year clean now, and plan on having my license reinstated by October of this year. After that, i have to do drug counciling and get a signed paper saying im good to go. So the question is, first off, considering everything above...will i be hireable at all? and secondly, when i get my license reinstated, will it still be a class A? Or do i have to do the school again considering its been suspended almost 3 years now? And what kind of companies should i target in my job search? Sry this is so long and thank u to anyone who took time to read and respond. I loved driving truck, absolutely loved it, but started at the young age of 22. im not blaming my mistakes on my age, but my maturity wasnt there like it is now. Now i see things differently. and i want to drive truck more than ive ever wanted anything. THanks for your time.

I would have to say you're done. Not forever but its a long road to get behind a truck again. You tested positive on a drug test. I went to CR England's orientation once, I decided I didn't like what I heard and left. I drove my own car to SC and then back, the only cost they occurred was me staying in their building. Long story short, I leave and apply to another company, they tell the new company that I tested positive on their drug test. I keep every piece of paperwork given to me.

I called the actual testing company, they said that was totally not true and to tell them where to fax the results and it would be there within ten minutes. I ended up suing CR England for an undisclosed amount.

You guys are done. The drug/alcohol allegations are enough to do it without the tickets.

Would you like to super size that order?

Is it for here or to go?

Time to practice for the next level testing.

Look at other fields guys, you are pretty much cooked in the trucking industry. I suggest now is a good time to attend schooling (welding, plumbing, electrician, etc.) and this will also give you time to try and staighten up your past misdeeds the best that you can. Good luck.

Great idea Gone... but unfortunately with those trade jobs once you graduate no one will touch you w/o 3-5 years experience (at least here in my part of the country) and the job market is flooded with trades people looking for work- check ''threads'' on ''I want to drive truck and was doing_________ but my job got shiftcanned.'' *sarcasm*
I am not saying school is not an answer. Just my husband did that route trades school after laid off 5/07 and then got his CDL A. The economy is just TOUGH for everyone out there.
I wish there was an answer cuz it seems like drivers get raked over the coals for farting in the wrong direction. And there are ALOT of newbs getting into driving now as an option and there are alot coming back.

I wish you all good luck in you endevors.
