Ive been driving too long, i go where i want do what i want, when i want at knight or any other i place i have my own authourity and use them and others to broker loads, ive not met one that is worth anything, i sometimes broker my own loads but unless you get on with someone that will use you regulary your pretty much operating with the sharks. Im retired but do this when i feel like it. The only problem i have with any of these people is money, they hate to part with it and try to screw you every which way to sunday, you have to watch them every minute.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

LOL, come on now, that's a FIVE STAR meal!!
-
Man, THIS is going to be interesting!!!

Very short update. I am really liking the truck I was issued. It rides nice, and only has 130k on it. I am on my way to Idaho with a 7000# load. So, the mountains are no problem. Delivery is a little stretched, but I may be able to deliver early, just have to see.

Hey crc good to see u started this thread. It will be nice to see ur updates and how things go this time around for you. Good Luck and be safe!!

I am trying to figure out how much I can say on here. Having a job at all is so important right now. I already have a hospital suing my wife and I for a remaining portion of a surgery bill. After the little disaster at "Barr-Nunn but Me", I can not afford any more time for orientations, ect.
But I will say this much, I have not had a single 34 restart so far this month. Yeah, its almost been a month now. I have had some good longer runs, and my loads have averaged about 750 miles, just guessing. My dispatcher is somewhat new, and prone to mistakes. I was late to one delivery, which comes down to my fault, on a technical error. I ran out of hours, and thought I was still ok, but it turns out I misfigured my trip plan badly.
The E-Logs! I am not having fun with e-logs thus far. I am still keeping paper logs, since the E-log system seems to fail frequently and tells me to keep paper logs. I do not see how this system is ever going to replace paper.
I am currently between loads, waiting for Walmart to give me an empty. Every weekend thus far, I have had a enough pre-plans to get me thru till Monday. I am amazed to say, I have never finished one load thus far without a pre-plan. This is a difference from my prior time at Knight. While the miles haven't been good enough to run out my 70, I have been on the road driving every day out here. And to me, that seems pretty good. Considering where things are going, and how they have been. I am very close to 10,000 miles added to the truck this month. The Challenger and ccolvin Thank this. -
Interesting you are having problems with the Elogs - I haven't had many issues. Only once did I have to go back and edit almost a half days worth. Is your QC going out of satellite coverage and that's why you're doing paper logs or is it just not recording your hours correctly?

Good to see that things are going well for you, crc. Just don't push yourself too hard. You are still human, and not a machine. (Well, maybe a money-making machine!)
As far as elogs, it takes time getting used to. Once you figure it out, things become easier. Seems like you have a good dispatcher too.

To expand on the E-log issue, I frequently get the message:
HOS MESSAGE
INVALID ODOMETER READING. PLEASE KEEP
PAPER LOGS SINCE 07/17 17:41 (CENTRAL
DAYLIGHT TIME)
