Long story short... I did orientation in jan, this year, drove 5 mos, went broke(yes...I leased) am on the verge of losing home now.anyhow,I went as a contractor to a 'local' co. already got screwed out of a days pay.most loads were overweight,so skip the scales.no weigh policy cuz it takes too much time.I'm desperate.load fromga. to tx,ga and fla ok, but ticket in ms. boss says loads gotta be delivered.aftere zig-zagging thru ms.and la. i drop load,a day later than was so-called scheduled.was to get a load back but it dissapeared.the a\c was out in truck(had issues for 4 weeks and company hadn't put it the shop ..yet) ok.this was a fri bout 4pm when i find theres no backhaul.will know more in the morn,i'm told. around 10am i'm told theres nothing and since no one works on the weekend i'd just have to sit.I'm the reason theres no load, i'm told cuz i delivered late.cant do that i said, not gonna sit in the truck in texas in july with no way to survive, no fridge,a\c. anyhow one of 2 options...drive back and turn in truck ar abandon in texas and never drive again.i drove.now i'm being charged for the fuel(not being paid)Now what do i do?any help is appreciated.
any grounds to stand on?

Did you do any research before you leased a truck? This forum is full of storys like yours. Just because your ready to haul freight means nothing if there is no freight to haul. You hauled the over weight load and you were late.

it wasn't a lease and what other option did i have?drive or lose my job. but, i get what you're saying.thanx

You said you leased but, it wasn't a lease? It really don't matter, you were late because you took a over weight load around every scale house. You did what you did and now your paying the price. Good luck.

Your in a situation of your own choosing. It sounds like a shakey situation, but you certainly had a hand in it. To start with Over Loaded or not you have to decide before you take the load if you can handle it, if you can not, do not take the load, period.... I don't know if the company is the bad guy or not. You missed the delivery, if your a L/O then maintenance is your problem also... Welcome to the real world, again and again we say, "The driver is not the one making the profit on a No money Down Lease".
