Going to get my electric tarp fixed tomorrow. Hopefully they sent the right bracket. Wore my butt off this week manually tarping. Tarp rolls up fine but only the back half unrolls, then have to go up to front and drag the front of the tarp over the edge. That's because don't have bungee cord on the front. Just about did me in today with 111 heat index.

You getting any rain yet? The radar looks pretty scary through KS and up through NE. A nice line has been building for the past two hours.
-
Not yet. They say we have a chance tonight. Looks worse to the north of us.

I was planning on taking the day off and got called about a hot load of beans that needed to go to Wichita. Paid really well and I talked to Kansas on the cb, he was transferring beans in Wichita today.
It was only supposed to be 760 or so bushels of beans to finish contract. Manager wanted to clean out one silo of beans so I ended up with 950 bushels of beans. I didn't think I could get that many on my low sided trailer but I did. Weighed in at 84,000 glad didn't see any DOT boys.
I got the electric tarp fixed, life is good again. I didn't think I would miss it that much. -
950 is a bunch of beans to squeeze on a low side. They must've had a pretty decent test weight. I bet it is nice to have the electric tarp working again. I haven't had a load in our hoppers for, I believe 2 months. Things have been kind of lean around here, been hauling with the drop deck, but only about 1 load out and back each week. Found out today I will have a bin with about 5 loads to clean out later next week, lovely weather to do it in. The farmer is in is late 60's, so I get to sweep it out myself. I think we'll try to get it pulled down to the sweep on one day and get in and sweep early the next morning. Hopefully with the markets rallying a bit, things will pick up and can get some grain moving next month.
wheathauler and dairyman Thank this. -
Hope things pick up for you. Already have loads for next week which is nice. Moving the wheat to get ready for fall harvest...which will be here before I know it.

Wheathauler, amazingly, we had almost 1" of rain in our small corner of Harper County, yesterday afternoon! Very welcome! Glad to hear you have some hauling going on, my son has been busy helping me on the farm, but is ready to climb back into the truck if the opportunity presents itself. Remember a post on here a while back, people posting pictures of their trucks. Seemed like quite a few Blue trucks, so thought I might as well add our latest.

Good looking trucks. Hope your son gets to hauling soon. Nice rain that ought to help the crops. I haven't figured out how to get pictures on here, not computer literate I guess.

RW I did the sweep drill yesterday afternoon. Conventional rice isn't that bad but that hybrid itches like crazy and feels like knife blades in your eyes. The bosses are fixin to put up 2 48000 bushel bins. At least they'll have power sweeps.
