Is this right? I could believe they might throw out any drivers who don't have any inspections but clean inspections will help a company's score. Good drivers will get fewer inspections so that point is somewhat valid.

I'm a mother, and I am against tired truckers too.

Before we judge what those women are doing, let's look at what motivates them, with an OPEN MIND.

The difference between my approach and theirs is that I work with it from INSIDE the industry, and they don't have that access.

They do not care to have the access or even learn what the trucker has to deal with.

I have looked and looked and I can't find anything that will help the scores except time. They will be on your report for 3 years. they do go down after 1 yr and again after 2 yrs. But ,what happens if you are stopped and inspected and get 30 points? That will be multipied by 3 so you now have 90 points. One driver said his co. said you are gone with 90 points. It will take you a yr for them to go down to 60 points.then you might get job again.Again you can have 10 clean inspections and they don't mean anything. What I'm saying is that it is going to be alot harder to keep a job as a truck driver

P.S I haven't found anywhere it says that a clean inspection lowers the points, for a driver or a company

The severity multiplier for time of violation is X3 for 0-6 months after the violation, X2 for 6-12 months after and X1 for 12-24 months. After 24 months the violation is no longer worth any points for both driver and companies, however the violation DOES stay on the record for drivers for another 12 months. From 24-36 months the violation does NOT count towards the drivers score though... can't emphasize this enough...

CSA forces drivers to be more careful in doing their job. If you've been out there for any amount of time, you know that it is a rare driver seen crawling under his truck to inspect it after parking for the night. It's a rare sight to see a driver checking his tires, air pressure, etc before taking off in the morning.
Well now, it forces us to do what we all say we've been doing.
Then we will begin forcing the companies to be responsible for their truck maintenance. About the time drivers start refusing to move a trailer because of bad tires, brakes, slack adjusters out of adjustment and more, is about the time the company is forced to start maintaining the vehicle.
Yes, in the beginning, some of these companies will threaten (and even carry out) drivers, but about the time word starts getting out that they won't maintain the equipment and drivers KNOW they are going to be penalized, is when those companies can't find drivers anymore.
If your company isn't maintaining equipment by this date, it's time for you to start looking or you may be the guy on the sidelines with 100 points!

They told us the "CDL" was going to make drivers more money.
    That didn't happen!
They told us the "HAZ-MAT ENDORSEMENT" was going to make us more money.
    That didn't happen!
They told us the "TWIC" card was going to make us more money. That didn't happen!

I have complied with all 3 programs (scams) that were going to make me more money. It cost me almost $500 to get all these things to make me more money, not even counting the money I lost by having to be off the road to get all this garbage, that would push the cost over $1000 probably! How much more $$$ did I make???

    NOT A SINGLE STINKING PENNY!!!

and you expect me to, once again, believe that some goobermint program, designed by a bunch of over-educated college egg heads that don't know the difference between a fifth wheel and a steering wheel is going to make me more money.
I DONT THINK SO!!! How many times do we need to get lied to before the majority catches on to their scams???
Wake up drivers! If you believe this is going to do anything other than hurt you and cost you money, if you think this plan is going to make you more valuable to anyone, I have some land in Florida to sell you!!!

The CDL was instituted to stop the practice of multiple DL's being used to hide violations.

The haz-mat endorsement is supposed to ensure a small amount of training, and a cursory check of your background. Thank home land security.

TWIC is intended to expedite those who frequent ports through security.

Now Haz-Mat and TWIC are both voluntary so your participation was and is your choice. I fail to see your complaint as you chose to particpate.

CSA2010 is simply compiling a list of drivers inspections both good and bad and where they rank in a percentile.

It is not about getting you more money and neither were the other changes you mentioned.

Any harm that comes from this program will be of your own doing, just like your complaint. Do your job correctly and you will suffer no effects. Failure will be recorded.

If enough failures are removed from the business a driver that has not failed in his duties may become more desirable, or they may simply increase the in flow of new drivers short term. That is the only possible effect it may have on pay.

I beg to differ. The only affect this program will have on trucking is to eliminate experienced drivers from the ranks, create an artificial demand for new drivers, encourage the cdl mills to turn out under qualified steering wheel holders, force the government to open the borders for mexican truckers, thus ensuring the drivers will continue to be under paid for another generation and increase the nature and frequency of deadly accidents. IMNSHO!!!
