Are all american trucks using unsynchronized gearboxes

There is one thing i should not be interpreted....


truck man f2000( 2000/2001) with syncro zf gearbox with broken clutch cylinder


driver attempted to float gears and there are a lot of unwanted sounds from gbox

and when he press clutch pedal in cab,,,,,, he could normally float


of course carefully.......

 

You can float some syncro tranns. but its bad for the syncros.
If you float a non syncro it dont know the difference. It dont hurt any thing.

 

Hey junior I have been shifting how ever I like for years longer than you have been on the planet and YOU DON'T Know what you are talking about Floating done EXPERTLY is easier on the syncros ETC (BTW I have built more transmissions than you have shifted)

 

I have a '04 Ranger with 5spd manual. Sometimes it may be fun to watch me in that! I've pulled that thing out of gear many times, and tried floating it, up or down. For some reason, that little 4.0 gasser just doesn't want to act like a real engine. In other words the rpm's drop or go up WAY too fast. For as light as that clutch is, I'll save the trans and use the clutch.
