I stick with the route it says as PC Miler has that as the practical route! Well almost! Drop the 55 part and just stay on 70 through St Louis and then hit 64 down to 24. Then pick up 75 at Choo Choo on down to the Fl Turn Pike and follow your directions! Why beat your self up on any Texas road, I20 or I49 or I10?? Those roads should pay you to drive on them! The only "hills" to pull will be in MO then TH and north Ga. The rest is almost down hill out of Co across KS untill you hit MO! Then the work starts but as I said unless they've completely rebuilt everythig from the Springs to the Fl line will beat you to death! Yes, your route is 68 miles shorter BUT 5.5 hours longer according to PC Miler but PC Miler is wrong on the shorter routes hours as it stays set on constant speeds and doesn't count the red lights on 287 so it can be a lot longer! I'd stay interstate for steady speeds which saves fuel and time!
Need some routing advice

I've got until the end of the weekend, hell for all I know they will have a preset route for me to take, but from what my boss said, it's all up to me. I've already started looking into airfares and such, just have to see if she wants me to handle it to save her time.

Alot of construction on the 70 and 64 in St. Louis. It might be better to take the 70 to 370 to 270 to 255 and then to 64.

i've never used pcmiler or streets and trips, but (sometimes) if you zoom in on google maps, you can see whether there's a hotel next to a truckstop.

I was in and out of Homestead in 40 minutes, it took me longer to unload my personal gear out of the tractor and into the van that took me off the base. No inspections at the gate.
