Preplan, what's that? I don't consider it preplan, when they send it to you, then send load info 2 min. behind it.:biggrin_25513:

All I can say, is that I have what I consider to be , one kick ### DM. He tries his best to keep me preplanned and if I don't have one...I send in a request, several times a day if needed, for one.

Students are supposed to drive.. I never trained at trans am but for another company.. Do you think you should sit in passenger seat and get paid to watch. Students need to drive all the time, 11 hours a day. The trainer is there to help you fix your problems and teach.. If you had a trainer who did not do this then that sucks. Trainers do not need to drive students do

Panhandle flash I am starting with trans am on wednesday as an experienced driver. I am glad to hear someone is doing well there. I trained for another company for five years and that is my plan at trans am. I am going to do lease program, do they usually have brand new trucks available?

Thanks for the info.. I am experienced driver so I wont have to try to learn everything from scratch.. is dividing miles by 55 the time it will take to get there..Is that what you meant so i will know if i will be late and have to sit at customer..

Oh my yes, there will be new trks there to lease. Take your pick. Think I would stay away from the trks that end in 10 tho. Talked to a couple of guys that are driving those and they are having problems with them. They are having to stop every 75 to 200 miles or so and do a manual regen. From what one guy told me, he took his to KW and they said that was the way it was until the trk gets broke in. Then it will start to do it automatically. Problem with that tho, is that it takes # 45 mics for a regen cycle and since it's idleing at a high rate of speed, fuel mileage will go down. Don't know what the "break in " period is.

TA plans their trips at 53 mph. I do it at 55 since I'll still have plenty of time. I'm governed at 62 which is why I picked 55. You won't be governed so low so you'll just have to figure out what is the right MPH for you to use in pretripping.

Training. If you've already got prior experience, then more power to you. They can always use more GOOD trainers and they are looking for them. TRK just to small for me to want to do so.

Hope I answered all your questions.

Panhaldle was looking # Transam will they hire me out of NJ? I always see some Transam Trucks delivering to a food supplier out by Hawthorne NJ. Also I got my Class A by myself (didnt go thru a school) Will they hire me with 0 expreience? Im thinking about TA due to the fact that you guys are always making runs up to the northeast. Im hoping that could work to my advantage when it came to hometime

Talked to a guy the other day who was from NJ and he was driving for them. Was having a problem finding a place to park his truck tho so you'll need to take that into consideration.

I got my CDL thru a school and had 0 experience myself when coming on with them. Hope you get a good trainer.

Don't let them talk you into leasing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Theres tons of "truck parking" where i can pay for a few nights and have the wife come pick me up. I'll give them a call tomorrow. And I am NOT leasing! Already made my mind up when it comes to that issues Ive read all across the board that it is a bad deal. If I have to sit for a month or so then I'll just come back home and do some side work untill a truck is ready for myself. May I ask why don't you train?

Simple reason is that I am a loner and these trks are just to dang small for me to want to put up with anyone for 3 weeks at a time. Suppose if I had a T700, T2000, a freightshaker, or something along that line and only did a student every other month or so....... it might be different.
